REBORN: Israel is Living Proof That the God of the Holy Bible is the TRUE GOD of Heaven and Earth

This month, we celebrate the biggest Biblical prophecy fulfillment since Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven nearly 2,000 years ago – the rebirth of the Nation of Israel! 71 years ago, on May 14th, 1948, God made good on His over 2,500-year-old promise unto the Jewish people to return them to their ancient Biblical Homeland.

While every Biblical prophecy (with the exception of Tribulation Hour prophecies) has been fulfilled or is being fulfilled, the prophecy of the reestablishment of Israel coming to pass in our generation is rock solid proof that there is indeed a God – and that the God of the Holy Bible is HE.

No other “holy book” of any other religion on earth has ever been so accurate and inerrant as our Holy Book. Archaeology has only ever backed up what God has recorded through His prophets, and has never disproven God’s Word.

As the Disciple Peter said, “We have a SURE word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” (2nd Peter 1:19)

Not only did the LORD keep his age-old promise to return the Jewish people to their God-given Holy Land, but He did it in the EXACT year and season that He said He would 2,500+ years ago! Tell the skeptics of the Holy Bible to try to explain that away.

In celebration of Israel’s 71st Independence Day as a reborn Nation, I wanted to share a chapter from my book, “The Signs of Our Times,” which will explain why the rebirth of the Jewish State is absolutely essential to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Without Israel being reborn, all of the other “Last Days” signs occurring around us would mean absolutely nothing. So be prepared to learn all about why no other Nation on earth will ever be closer to God’s heart than ISRAEL, as you read about “The Fig Tree” –

“Jesus said.. Learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.” ~ MATTHEW 24:32

The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 24, is arguably the Holy Bible’s most comprehensive account of “Last Days” signs which herald Christ’s return to Earth; and they were given to us by Jesus Himself. In verse 34, He told His disciples that “the generation” to witness the fulfillment of all of His signs would be alive for His Second Coming. In verses 32-34, He mentions the blossoming of the “fig tree” – which is the most important sign of them all.

Without this integral sign being fulfilled, the rest of His signs could all be taking place at once and yet would mean nothing prophetically. The reason being that the earth has experienced powerful earthquakes throughout history, Jews and Christians have always experienced persecution, there have been false prophets since the earliest days of Christianity, extreme weather has been around since Noah’s days, and there have been wars in virtually every generation.

But for nearly 2,000 years, after Christ had ascended into Heaven, there was not a Nation of Israel upon the earth. The fig tree that Jesus was referring to was, no doubt, Israel. Lord Jesus said that when we witness all of the signs listed in Matthew 24 taking place, during the generation of the Jewish State’s rebirth, then we would “know” that His return is “near.”

Throughout history, many Christians believed that they were the generation which would live to see our Lord coming in the clouds; but that was impossible if there was no Israel on the map. I’m glad that those generations lived with the hope of seeing Christ come back. Though, the fact remains that if they lived any time before 1948, there was no way that they could be the generation which Jesus spoke of.

After the Jews had been exiled from their Promised Land by the Assyrians, Babylonians, Romans, Muslims, and others, the Israelites were scattered across the globe. Thoughts of their Biblical Homeland ever being resurrected appeared dismal, and virtually impossible. They had one sure and strong hope to cling to though: God’s Eternal Word.

In the Holy Bible, the LORD had never broken even one promise which He had ever made to Israel. God promised in His Word, numerous times, to return the Jews to their God-given Land in the Latter Days and to reestablish the Nation of Israel. The reestablishment of Israel would be Jesus’ sign of the “fig tree blossoming” fulfilled.

When our Lord makes His imminent return, every believer should know that He comes back down to defend and save the Nation of Israel from certain destruction (during the Battle of Armageddon). Christ will personally fight and defeat the AntiChrist, as well as the many nations of the world who make war on the Jewish State.

Jesus then rules and reigns from Israel’s Holy Capital of Jerusalem, as King of kings and Lord of lords over the whole earth. Until there was actually a Nation of Israel on Earth, none of these “Last Days” prophecies could ever be fulfilled. For over 2,500 years, there was no “Israel.” In May of 1948, that changed.

Now, before I go further, I’m sure many of you are asking how I can be so sure that the “fig tree,” which Jesus referred to, was truly the Nation of Israel? When in doubt, examine the entirety of the Scriptures to figure it out. When the LORD mentioned the fig tree in Jeremiah 24:5, Hosea 9:10, and Joel 1:6-7, He was always describing Israel. There is no one who could argue otherwise.

So, back to 1948.. 70 years ago, on May 14th, the ancient Biblical Nation of Israel was officially “reborn.” The LORD prophesied, around 3,000 years ago, that the Israelite Jews would be exiled from their Holy Land for around 2,500 Years. After that period of separation, He promised to return them to their Promised Land. We read in Ezekiel, Chapter 37 and verse 21 –

“Thus saith The LORD God: Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them back into their own Land.”

In 606 BC, the Jewish exile began. In the exact number of Biblically-prophesied years later, God fulfilled His age-old promise to the Jewish people. He gathered them from all nations of the world, wherever they had been scattered, and brought them back into their God-given Holy Land. I love the mathematical prophecy which is found in the Book of Ezekiel. In Chapter 4, verses 4-6, the LORD said to Ezekiel –

“Lay upon your left side.. For I have laid upon you the YEARS of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety (390) days: so shall you bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty (40) days: I have appointed you each day for a YEAR (430).”

God was speaking of judgment upon Israel, as a whole, but mentioned Judah separately from Israel because (at that time) the Nation was split into two Kingdoms. Judah represented the Southern Kingdom. There were 390 days of judgment against the ten Northern Tribes of Israel, and 40 days against the two Southern Tribes of Israel – which equaled 430 years of judgment against the Jewish Nation.

Israel was taken into captivity by Babylon for exactly 70 years. So, 430 years minus 70 years fulfilled during the captivity = 360 years remaining in the judgment. After the Babylonian captivity, many have wondered where exactly the remaining 360-year judgment was in Israel’s history? We must look to the Biblical “7X Factor” of God’s judgment.

Biblical scholars could not find any specific captivity or dispersion that fulfilled the 360 years left in the judgment, until a closer look into the Book of Leviticus revealed the “seven times” prophetic warning (Leviticus 26:18, 21, 27-28 & 33). In those verses, God warned Israel that if they continued in their disobedience then He would multiply their judgment by “seven.”

God always says what He means, and He means what He says. When we apply the 7X factor to the remaining 360 years of judgment against the Nation of Israel, we arrive at 2,520 years of judgment remaining. Now, the LORD gave the Jews the most sophisticated calendar on Earth. It is both a Lunar and a Solar calendar.

The Jewish calendar uses a 360-day Lunar (and Prophetic) year, and then adds a Leap Month on specific years to accurately coincide with the Solar cycle – which we use on our Julian calendar. The Holy Bible uses 360-day years for prophecies, and expects us to add the appropriate leap months on schedule. So, the easiest way to unravel this prophecy is to first convert it into days: 2,520 years x 360 days = 907,200 days of judgment remaining against Israel, after the Babylonian captivity.

We then convert the 907,200 days into our 365.25 day Solar (Julian) years (the .25 adjusts for leap years), and we end up at 2,483.78 years of judgment remaining. Starting with the 70 years of Babylonian captivity, we arrive at 536 BC. We then add the 2,483 years of judgment which are left – plus one year (because there is no “zero” BC or AD) – and we arrive at 1948 AD! How amazing is that?! God is truly right on time – all of the time.

In the spring of 1948, Israel was officially declared – and globally recognized as – a Nation again for the first time in over 2,500 years. HalleluYah! Prepare to have your mind blown even more… The time period of the Jews being exiled from their Holy Land by the Babylonians to the year in which Babylon destroyed Jerusalem was 19 years. The time period of Israel regaining their Homeland in 1948 to reclaiming Jerusalem as their Holy Capital City in 1967 was 19 years!

I believe that God had mirrored the years of their exile and their return for a sure sign that it was His Divine Hand at work. It was in June of 1967, when the Islamic armies surrounding Israel attacked the Jewish State from every border. They were looking to finish what Hitler started, by attempting to wipe out the Jewish people and the Nation of Israel from the face of the earth.

Though greatly outnumbered by tens of thousands of troops, the small number of Israeli forces not only defended their Nation valiantly but (after only a Six-Day War) they recaptured their ancient Biblical Capital of Jerusalem. Islamists had controlled the Holy City ever since taking it from the Christians centuries earlier. Israel defeated nearly a half dozen hostile Muslim nations in less than one week.

It became crystal clear, to all observers, that God was with His beloved Nation of Israel in the War. Scholars and historians call the Israeli military victory nothing short of a miracle. The Six-Day War also mirrored an ancient battle in our Holy Bible to a tee. In the Book of Joshua, Chapter 6:3-4, we find that the Israelite Army won the victory at Jericho in only six days –

“You shall compass the city, all the men of war, going around the city once. Thus shall you do six days.”

By the 7th day, Joshua and his Army had obtained the victory – just as the Israeli Army did in 1967. There can be no doubt that the LORD, Himself, was fighting on behalf of Israel on both occasions. He always has, and He always will…

As I said at the opening of this article, there absolutely must be a Nation of Israel on the earth for Latter-Day Biblical prophecy to mean anything. That is because the main reason that Jesus returns to earth is to save Israel from destruction by virtually the entire world coming against them in the Battle of Armageddon.

On top of that, He rules and reigns from JERUSALEM as the “King of kings” and “Lord of lords” in the Millenium. Jerusalem is once again, in our lifetimes, the undivided Capital of Israel. So look up my friends, because the King is coming!

Until He comes back down, may the LORD continue to bless and defend His Chosen Nation. Happy RE-Birthday Israel!

“For The LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their OWN Land: and the strangers (Gentile Christians) shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the House of Jacob.”

  1. Thank you. I read this with such emotion. My husband was an Orthodox Jew and I was churched for 30 years. God brought my husband and I together in a miracle testimony in 2015. I found out through DNA testing that I have Southern European Jewish roots, my mother was Greek. 3 years ago my husband acknowledged his belief in Yeshua and I was brought to the Torah. We have a Messianic Service with around 70 people attending and Home Groups with people who have disovered their Jewish roots or have such a passion for Israel and want to live by the Torah and learn more. God is indeed calling His people out and bringing them back.
