America Forgetting GOD: Christianity Declining As Atheism And Islam On The Rise

The number of Christians in the United States has been declining over the past decade, while the number of atheists, agnostics and muslims are growing rapidly, according to surveys by the Pew Research Center. The percentage of adults who describe themselves as Christians has dropped by nearly 10%, from 78.4% in a Pew Research survey in 2007 to 70.6% in 2014. Over the same period, the percentage of Americans which describe themselves as atheist, agnostic or “nothing in particular” jumped more than 6%, from 16.1% to 22.8%. The share of Americans who identify with other “religious” faiths has rose higher as well, rising 1.2%, from 4.7% in 2007 to 5.9% in 2014. Growth has been especially great among MUSLIMS. If you look at the chart below, it is very disconcerting. There are declines in Christianity, andJudaism is stagnant, while Islam, foreign religions and atheism are ALL on the rise.

The number of unbelievers in America has increased by about 19 MILLION since 2007. There are now approximately 56 million Americans who no longer believe in the God of the Holy Bible. This group, referred to in Pew Surveys as religious “nones” has grown larger than Catholics and mainline Protestants. Tragically, unbelievers in this nation are now second in size only to Evangelical Christians.

In 2007, there were 227 million adults in the U. S., and nearly 80% of them (about 178 million) identified as Christians. Between 2007 and 2014, while the overall size of the American population grew by nearly 20 million, to nearly 245 million people, those who identify as Christians shrunk to just over 70% (about 173 million). A 10% DECLINE, and a net decline of roughly 5 million.

5,000 of the 35,071 respondents interviewed in the Pew Research Center’s 2014 Religious Landscape Survey were recently surveyed again to explain why they no longer believe in God. The results of the recent follow-up survey reveal their responses shared common themes. The majority of the unbelievers, 78% of them, said they were raised as members of a particular religion before shedding religious identity in adulthood. About 50% of them indicated that “lack of belief” led them to move away from Faith. Many of them mentioned “science” as a reason they no longer believe in Biblical teachings.

About 70% of millennials (aged 18-33) believe that Christianity is “alienating” young adults by being too “judgmental” about LGBT issues. 31% of them who were raised in “religious households”, but are now unbelievers, say that negative Biblical teaching about gay and lesbian people was an important factor in their leaving the Faith.

Nearly half (45%) of young Evangelical Christians (aged 18-29) FAVOR Gay Marriage. These are the “Christians”, not the unbelievers. Though these youth profess the Faith and are churchgoers, they are obviously not being reared in Godly homes. If they were, their parent’s would be instructing them in Biblical Truth and teaching them to fear God. If nearly 50% of young Evangelicals are favoring Gay Marriage, then their parents should be ASHAMED.

Nearly 7 in 10 American seniors (67%) are Christians, while less than 3 in 10 (29%) are young adults. Evangelicals made up 22% of the U.S. population in 1988, and 20 years later in 2008, remained strong at 21%. As of 2015 though, the number has rapidly dropped to 17%. Only 1% drop in 20 years, and a 4% drop in the past 7 years! There are many reasons for this decline. The most recognizable reasons have been Barack Obama’s “radical transformation” of America, the liberal mainstream media’s Godless agenda, secular colleges pushing unBiblical scientific theories as “fact”, culture flooded with LGBT propaganda, and “WORLDLY” Churches and Pastors. Most Pastors today won’t preach Biblical Truth because they want to appeal to the secular world. Sinners need JESUS in their Church, and not more of the “world”.

Pew Research also reports that the muslim population in the United States, of about 3.5 million, will DOUBLE to well over 6.2 million by 2030. Between 1990 and 2010, the muslim population increased in North America by about 91%, from 1.8 million to over 3 million. In less than 15 years, the U.S. is projected to have a larger number of muslims than any European country other than Russia and France. Overall, the muslim population is projected to grow in North America by over 150% to over 8 MILLION.  Couple that with a decline in the Christian population, plus the increase in atheists and unbelievers, and America’s future looks very dark and dangerous.

Since 2008, when the rapid decline of Christianity and steady rise in Islam, paganism and Godlessness began, Barack Hussein Obama has been hellbent in destroying Judeo-Christian America. He loathed the Country which our forefathers had laboured so hard to build, grounded in Biblical beliefs, morals and values. Sadly, he has thusfar been successful in his plan of destruction. The America of my youth is unrecognizable in today’s society. He has brought muslim immigrants here in droves, and Hillary Clinton pledges to increase Islamic immigration by over 500%! So, sadly, it does not appear as if things will get any better in the foreseeable future. I think two of our former Presidents spoke prophetically of the current state of this nation, when they said ~

“If we ever FORGET that we are one nation UNDER GOD, then we will be a nation GONE UNDER.” ~ Ronald Reagan

America is indeed a nation gone under. It has become a nation laden with sin. Thus, curse upon curse, and judgment upon judgment, have befallen the USA throughout the Obama presidency. As the Scripture says, “Righteousness exalts a Nation: but SIN is a reproach to any PEOPLE.” (Proverbs 14:34) Even after all of the misfortune which Americans have experienced in the past decade, they chose not to repent and turn to God, but as the highlighted studies have shown, instead TURNED AWAY from Him.

The ONLY Hope for America is Revival, but until there is a Revival in the CHRISTIAN CHURCH, and a newfound boldness and unapologetic stance for God’s Truth amongst our preachers, the nation will not return to The LORD. If preachers continue to strive to please and appease MEN, while sugarcoating Biblical Truth, how will the sinners or faithless among us ever learn to please and fear GOD? Lord Jesus asked in LUKE 18:8, when He returns, will He FIND FAITH on earth? Sadly, if He returned today, the answer in America would be NO.
