7TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SPECIAL: Who Is The Christ of Christmas?

In years past, I’ve always done something special for the annual Christmas articles. This year, for this 7th Christmas Special, I’m keeping it simple and sweet. Past specials have been all about honoring Jesus in this season when we celebrate His Birth, but many who visit this website may not even know our Lord. So this year’s special is for all of those who don’t know why Christians love Christ as much as we do, and also for those of you who want to know Him a whole lot more. This article will cover just about everything you need to know about the greatest figure this world has ever known – Jesus Christ.

Now, you’ll hear a lot of people who aren’t Christians refer to Jesus as a good “spiritual teacher, prophet, or inspirational figure.” He was so much more. So much more indeed. He was Mighty GOD in the Flesh. He is the Lord of all, Saviour of the world, Messiah of Israel, and the Lamb of God who takes away our sins. As I’ve already stated, He was, is, and forever will be, the most important being who ever lived. No one is or will ever be more important. NO ONE.

For over 2,020 years, amongst believers and unbelievers alike, His Name’s been more well known than the likes of Moses, Julius Caesar, Buddha, Muhammad, Ghandi, all kings and queens of history, every U.S. President, and all other influential figures. We keep our Calendar BY HIM. The Year 2021 represents 2,021 years since HE entered our world. This is because, through Him Alone, God The Father constantly reaches out for reconciliation with a world full of poor sinners. YaHWeH, the Eternal God of Heaven and Earth, has dubbed JESUS CHRIST as “the Name above ALL names,” at which “EVERY KNEE must bow” (Ephesians 1:21 & Philippians 2:9).

In order to understand how different Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha’Mashiach in Hebrew) truly is from every human being that’s ever walked the face of this earth, you must first understand His PRE-existence. Jesus didn’t begin His Life in Bethlehem’s manger. Instead, the Holy Bible is clear that He existed from all eternity with the Father (YHWH) and the Holy Spirit.

Micah 5:2 says that He that was to be born in Bethlehem as Israel’s Messiah had existed “from EVERLASTING.” Isaiah 9:6 refers to this Christ Child as “The Mighty God, and EVERLASTING Father.” In order to fully grasp these Divine Titles, you must first understand “ELOHIM,” better known to us today as “the Trinity.” But before I delve into that subject, here’s one of the most powerful verses throughout the entirety of the Bible that best explains Jesus’ ETERNAL Existence:

“In the BEGINNING was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was WITH God (YaHWeH), and the Word WAS God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only Begotten Son of the Father), full of grace and truth.” – John 1:1,3,14

Jesus taught that He existed “BEFORE the world was” in the Gospel of John (17:5). He also said that Moses and Abraham knew of, wrote of, and saw Him in their days (John 5:46 and 8:56). These two ancient holy men of God lived centuries and millennia before Christ was born!

Other verses referring to Jesus existing from the foundation of the world, and to His presence in the creation of the Universe, are found in Hebrews 9:26, 1st Peter 1:20, Revelation 13:8, John 1:10, Colossians 1:16, and Hebrews 1:2. His creating the earth with the Father and Holy Spirit leads us into the subject of the Trinity.

Genesis 1:1 states that “In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth.” The Hebrew word used for God in this verse, and about 2,500 other times in the Holy Bible, is “ELOHIM.” This word means that YaHWeH had company, as “IM” indicates plurality. For example, angels are often described in groups as seraphIM or cherubIM. This backs up the doctrine of the Trinity, which is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Verse 26 of Genesis, the first Book of our Bible, verifies the Trinity further as God said, “Let US make man in OUR Image, after OUR Likeness.” YHWH obviously wasn’t talking to Himself, and wasn’t addressing angels either – as they are not fashioned in His Image or Likeness, but created in their own unique way. He was addressing His Son and His Spirit. Jesus, Himself, in John 10:30 had taught, “I and My Father are ONE.”

In order to grasp how three separate entities can exist as ONE Deity, I use the H20 teaching. It’s so simple that even children can grasp it. When you have water in liquid form, that would represent God the Father. When you take the SAME water, freeze it, and get a solid form, you have God the Son. When you boil that SAME water, and produce steam, you have God the Holy Spirit. Three entities, through something as simple as water, have three different forms and personalities – yet they all manifest from the SAME source! One in the same, but all coming in a different appearance.

Hopefully that helps you all better understand how YaHWeH, Yeshua, and the Holy Spirit can all three be known as GOD, as the Bible teaches, while still being “ONE God.” Here are some Old and New Testament verses referring to the three members of ELOHIM (the Trinity):

“Come you near unto Me (JESUS), hear you this; I have not spoken in secret from the BEGINNING; from the time that IT was, there AM I: and now the Lord GOD (YHWH), and His SPIRIT, has sent Me.” – Isaiah 48:16

“Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto Me in Heaven and in earth. Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the Holy SPIRIT.” – Matthew 28:18-19

“For there are THREE that bear record in Heaven, the Father (YHWH), the Word (JESUS), and the Holy Spirit: and these three are ONE.” – 1st John 5:7

GOD the Son, the second Member of the Trinity, was sent by the Father to be the perfect sacrifice for OUR sins, like an unblemished lamb. Hence the title, “Lamb of God.”

Jesus Christ was the appearance of our Eternal God in bodily form (Philippians 2:5-8), and thus He had to come through a glorious, unparalleled entry into this world – a virgin  birth. He was prophesied to be born of a Virgin in Jeremiah 31:22 and in the classic verse of Isaiah 7:14. The title which Isaiah gave the Child was “Immanuel,” which means “GOD WITH US.”

Jesus’ Reason for coming down to Earth, and having to lay down His Life for us through the Body of a man as a sacrifice on our behalf, is recorded in Hebrews 10:4-5. His Miraculous Birth, through the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin Mary, is recorded in Luke 1:26-28, 30-31 & 34. Matthew 1:21 reads, “She shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name JESUS: for He shall SAVE His people from their SINS.” Jesus’ Name, Yeshua in the original Hebrew, translates to “SALVATION of God” or “YaHWeH SAVES.” He would be known and revered as “The Son of God.”

“And the Angel Gabriel answered and said unto Mary, the Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest (YHWH) shall overshadow you: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God.” – Luke 1:35

“And lo a Voice from Heaven came, saying, this is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” – Matthew 3:17

“Behold, the demons cried out, saying, What have we to do with You, Jesus, You SON OF GOD? Are You come hither to torment us before the time?” – Matthew 8:29

“Simon Peter answered Jesus and said, You are the Christ, the SON of the Living God.” – Matthew 16:16

“Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, truly this was the SON of God.” – Matthew 27:54

“He shall be Great, and shall be called the SON of the Highest: and YHWH God shall give unto Him the throne of His father (King) David.” – Luke 1:32

“No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten SON, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” – John 1:18

“For God (YHWH) so loved the world, that He gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be SAVED. He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only Begotten SON OF GOD.” – John 3:16-18

“The Father loves THE SON, and has given all things into His Hand. They that believe on the Son have everlasting life: and they that believe not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on them.” – John 3:35-36

“All men should honour THE SON, even as they honour The Father. He that honours not the Son honours not the Father which has sent Him… Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the SON OF GOD: and they that hear shall live.” – John 5:23,25

“Jesus said, This is the Will of Him that sent Me, that every one which sees THE SON, and believes on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise them up at the last day.” – John 6:40

Now, there are many today who teach (like in Islam) that God had NO Son. This is one of the countless reasons why the god of Islam (Allah), is not the same God (YHWH), of our Holy Bible (which, by the way, predates the Quran of Islam by about 5,000 years). Muhammad, the so-called “prophet” of the religion, rewrote the life of Jesus over 1,500 years after Christ died on the Cross and rose from the dead. For more info on Muhammad’s many blasphemous teachings and “new revelations” about Jesus, which he received through a fallen angel (demonic spirit), read my book (The Signs of Our Times).

There are other Christ-haters today who claim falsely that there’s no mention of God having a Son in the Old Testament. They obviously have never read the Bible. Here are two powerful Old Testament references to God having a Son:

“Kiss THE SON, lest God be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him (Jesus Christ).” – Psalm 2:12

“Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is God’s Name, and what is HIS SON’S NAME, if you can tell?” – Proverbs 30:4

Now that I’ve unquestionably established the Sonship of Jesus, I’ll now confirm His role as “God in the Flesh.” There are false teachers who, while acknowledging He is the Son of God, don’t believe that He was the incarnation of God on Earth. The Bible refutes them hundreds of times. As I shared earlier, Isaiah 9:6 prophesied He would be “Mighty God” in the flesh. In Psalm 45:6, YHWH The Father calls Him “GOD forever and ever.” Again, the title “Emmanuel” bestowed upon Jesus, in Isaiah and Matthew 1:23, means “GOD with us.” And if you replace the term referring to Jesus in John 1:1-3, “the Word,” with the Name of “Jesus,” here’s what you get:

“In the beginning was JESUS Christ, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus WAS GOD.” – John 1:1

And in 1st Timothy 3:16:

“Great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into Glory.”

I love Colossians 2:9:

“For IN CHRIST dwells all the fulness of the Godhead (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) bodily.”

Jesus, by no means, ever claimed to be above YHWH God the Father of Heaven. He never claimed to be more important. Instead, He’d always given YaHWeH the Glory in everything, and ensured that everyone knew He was “sent by” Him and was His “Son.” He stated that He and the Father were “ONE.” He never wanted to be worshipped as God alone. He made sure that everyone, everywhere, for all of time, would know that God has forever been and would forever be Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three work together at all times. When you worship Jesus, you also worship the Father and Spirit.

Many Jews, uneducated in the New Testament, do not want to believe that Jesus is who He said He was because they don’t want to appear as worshipping “another God” besides YHWH. If they only knew how clear their Torah was, through the term “Elohim” describing the Trinity, and that their most important verse in the Old Testament affirms that YaHWeH is one with His Son and His Spirit in Deuteronomy 6:4:

“Hear, O Israel: YHWH our God (ELOHIM) is ONE YaHWeH.”

If they only read this verse with a mindset open to Yeshua, instead of a mind trying to disprove His oneness with the Father. Their Divine title, “Elohim,” though meaning plurality, is referred to definitively here as “ONE.” Jesus specifically echoed this verse to the Jews of His time, when He said, “I and My Father are ONE.” One thing is for sure, because the Bible is clear, that “in the Last Days” the Jewish people and Israel will be unblinded and will clearly see Yeshua as their Messiah. They’ll finally recognize that Jesus was indeed YHWH’s Christ all along. They will then call upon Him, and He’ll return to this earth to save them and their Nation of Israel from destruction by their many enemies who come against them in the Battle of Armageddon.

Having proved that Jesus was indeed God, as confirmed numerous times by YHWH throughout the pages of His Word, I’ll now address why Christ was sent to the earth.

Before the foundation of the world, Jesus had volunteered to be the Holy vessel which the Father required to be sacrificed on behalf of the sins of the entire world. Thus, He’d redeem us to our all-Holy Father in Heaven by His unblemished and spotless Blood. Jesus suffered the most horrific torture of any human being in history, and shed that precious, sinless, sacred, saving Blood on the Cross for you, me, and ALL who’d accept Him. Anyone who believes in His most Holy Name and sacrifice on our behalf can be reconciled to the Father in Heaven. For “without the shedding of blood there is NO remission of sins,” says God in His Word of truth.

We cannot, in today’s day and age especially, sacrifice a goat or lamb every day for our sins like the Jews had done in Old Testament times. There aren’t enough lambs in the world! There is only one thing in Heaven and on Earth that could ever appease God’s wrath and just judgment against a world full of sinners, and that’s His Son’s undefiled Blood of the NEW Covenant.

The Book of 1st Peter states that Lord Jesus was “ordained before the foundation of the world” to be our sacrificial lamb. Christ took a body with flesh and blood, endured temptation, hunger, thirst, shame, grief, unthinkable torture, and ultimately DEATH. Yet, through it all, HE SINNED NOT. He willingly took all of the pain and excruciating punishment which WE DESERVED upon Himself, out of His great immeasurable love for us.

He did so, even having the foreknowledge that not everyone would love Him back or appreciate what He had done. The Father must have shed infinite tears watching His only begotten Son suffer so tragically for His sinful children on the earth. Christ accepted the mission meant to bring about the salvation of souls. He endured it, and fully accomplished it. All that you and I have to do today, thanks to Jesus, is repent of our sins and ask the Father to cleanse us in Christ’s sinless shed Blood. He will. YHWH has promised, that through Christ, He will forgive and FORGET every sin and iniquity that we’ve EVER committed. Philippians 2:6-11 describes perfectly the humbling, yet victorious, act of Christ’s Sacrifice:

“JESUS CHRIST, Who, being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross. Wherefore God (YHWH) has so highly exalted Him, and given Him A Name which is ABOVE EVERY NAME: That at the Name of Jesus EVERY knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that EVERY tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the Glory of God the Father.”

The Sacrificial death of Lord Jesus by crucifixion was prophesied over a thousand years earlier by the prophet Isaiah, and Chapter 53 is a powerful description of what Christ endured for us:

“Surely He has borne OUR griefs, and carried OUR sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for OUR transgressions, He was bruised for OUR iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon HIM; and with His stripes (wounds) we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned EVERY ONE to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of US ALL. He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought AS A LAMB to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression (SINS) of my people was He stricken. And He made His grave with the wicked (two thieves crucified alongside Him), and with the rich in His death (buried in rich man’s tomb) because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief: when He shall make His soul an OFFERING FOR SIN.” – Isaiah 53:4-10

Here are some great verses highlighting the redemptive power of Christ’s death on the Cross, and that precious Holy Blood which He shed for us: 1st Peter 1:18-19, Revelation 1:5, Leviticus 17:11, 1st Timothy 1:15 & 2:6, and Hebrews 9:22.

Finally, Jesus had fully completed God’s Plan of salvation by being the only one throughout human history to ever RISE FROM THE DEAD, proving His Divinity. The empty tomb of Christ today is the reason we call Him “The Author and finisher of our Faith” (Hebrews 5:9 & 12:22). As He Himself had earlier prophesied, three days after His death on Calvary’s Cross, He rose from the grave:

“And the Angel in the tomb said unto them, Do not fear; You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: HE IS RISEN; He is not here: Behold the place where they laid Him.” – Mark 16:6

“Jesus said unto her, I Am the RESURRECTION, and the Life…” – John 11:25

“He was delivered for OUR offences, and was raised again for OUR justification.” – Romans 4:25

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that HE ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures.” – 1st Corinthians 15:3-4

Those who believe in any other way to the LORD’s Holy Heaven besides Jesus Christ – whether through other religions like Islam, through good works like in Buddhism, or through intercession of numerous false gods like in Hinduism – you spit on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. You tell God that you don’t need nor appreciate His plan for your salvation by which He sacrificed His only Son on your behalf. That’s why us Christians are so adamant that Jesus is the ONLY WAY to Heaven. In God’s Eternal Plan, He has made NO OTHER way. There is only one way, whether you choose to believe it or not, and that Way is through Jesus alone:

“Jesus said.. I Am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: there is no man who comes unto the Father, EXCEPT BY ME.” – John 14:6

“JESUS CHRIST: There is salvation in NO OTHER; for there is NONE OTHER NAME under Heaven given among men, whereby we MUST BE SAVED.” – Acts 4:12

“For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall BE SAVED.” – Romans 10:13

“For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ JESUS” – Galatians 3:26

“And this is the record, that God has given to us ETERNAL LIFE, and this Life is in His SON. He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God does not have life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God; that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the Name of the SON OF GOD.” – 1st John 5:11-13

There are, in total, 1,100 verses in the Holy Bible that state that Jesus is the ONLY WAY into God’s Holy Heaven. Here are some of the most crystal clear: Revelation 21:27, John 8:24 & 10:9, Romans 5:2 & 6:23, 1st Corinthians 3:11, Galatians 2:16 & 3:13, Colossians 1:20 & 2:10, and 1st Thessalonians 1:10.

To close out this biographical article on the King of kings and Lord of lords, I would be remiss not to mention why He, and He alone, was the prophesied Messiah of YHWH God Almighty.

There are many in the Jewish community today who are still waiting, in vain, for some other Messiah of Israel. They must be unaware that of the over 350 Messianic Prophecies in the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ fulfilled them ALL. Not ten, not fifty, not one-hundred, not half, but EVERY SINGLE ONE.

The prophet Micah prophesied that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem-Judea 700 years before Christ came. King David and the prophet Isaiah predicted picture-perfectly the kind of death that the Messiah would suffer one-thousand years before Lord Jesus died on Calvary’s Cross. The prophet Daniel predicted the exact date on which the Messiah would arrive, 530 years before Christ came on that EXACT DAY. The chance of one man fulfilling just eight Messianic Prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 17th power. To illustrate just how impossible that is, it would be 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000.

The probability of 48 Prophecies being fulfilled in just one man is the incredible number 10 to the 157th power. I’m not even gonna attempt to illustrate that because it is 157 zeros! And that is not even 20% of the 365 prophecies which Jesus FULFILLED. The Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua, is beyond any shadow of a doubt THE MESSIAH. Almighty God the Father has given you 365 reasons to believe that.

Please share this article with all those whom you love and care about. It’s my prayer that, through this article, I will bring someone reading this as close to Jesus as I’ve been blessed to be in this life. There is truly no better Friend in this world than Jesus Christ. I pray that everyone reading this will find Him today; and thus, find the peace which only He – as the Prince of Peace – can bring. God’s waiting to forgive your every sin RIGHT NOW. Today! So, what are you waiting for? Invite Jesus into your life. Ask Him to be your Saviour and your Lord right now. Start your life fresh today.

You can be cleansed of ALL SIN in God’s sight. As the Holy Bible says, through faith in Christ, old things pass away and all things become new. Do you need a fresh start in life? Do you need direction? A clean slate? Do you want to be free from the pain and shame that a life of sin brings? Well you can have ALL THAT this very day. Jesus Christ came for YOU. He didn’t come for the holy and righteous. He came for the SINNERS. Will you accept His sacrifice on your behalf? Your salvation is FREE, because Jesus has paid your sin debt to God the Father IN FULL.

Praise God for the greatest gift the world has ever known. And this is the reason for the season. The gift that forever keeps on giving. Praised be Jesus always and forever. Merry Christmas to you all!

    1. I apologize. I met the girl of my dreams right before the new year, but she has some abandonment issues so I have been focusing most of my time and attention on her. It’s a full-time job, but she is so worth it. I’ll be back soon. Keep her in your prayers. Her name is Alyssa G. Thank you and God bless!
