“For even Christ our PASSOVER is sacrificed for us.” – 1st Corinthians 5:7
For the past few years, I have written articles detailing the power of following God’s Passover commands in Exodus 12. This year, after experiencing a global pandemic, I feel it is more necessary than ever before to remind believers what truly protects us from any and every plague in this world – and it is not face masks or a vaccine.
It is the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.
It is the only thing that will guarantee you protection from Coronavirus, from any other sickness or disease, and from disasters like tornadoes or hurricanes. Jesus’ holy, spotless, sinless blood. That’s it. Nothing else. No matter what CNN, left-wing “science is truth” doctor Fauci, or anyone else tells you.
My message for the past year has been to put Faith over fear, and to put your trust in the healing stripes and blood of Christ over some piece of cloth on your face or some Bill Gates vaccine (with God knows what in it). I have lived out my preaching and beliefs throughout Covid-19, just as I do every year; and praise be to God for keeping His promises in the Holy Bible to pass over my home and keep me and my loved ones safe, healthy, and well. He always has, and I trust that as I continue to follow His Biblical prescription for His annual protection, He always will.
To those who haven’t read my past articles or my books speaking on this matter, you may be asking what exactly that prescription is? I’ll lay it out for you, and you’d be wise to pay heed.
When speaking to the Hebrew Jews dwelling in Egypt, in the Book of Exodus (Chapter 12), the LORD promised to “PASS OVER” their homes and to keep all plagues, danger, disaster, evil, the destroyer, the spoiler, and death far from them if they followed His commands. Here’s what He commanded them –
“Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.” – Exodus 12:3-7, 12-14, 22-23
Thus, the prescription for His Divine protection is simply the “BLOOD OF THE LAMB” upon the doorposts of your home. That’s all. No lengthy prayers. No masks on the face or shots in the arm. No expensive medicine. None of that. Let Him see the blood of the lamb on your doors. That’s it. It was an act of faith by the Israelites in obeying this command (and an act of faith by us today) that inspired (and still inspires) Him to bestow His Heavenly protection upon them (and us) against every plague and evil roundabout.
Now, obviously, I am not – in any way, shape, or form – suggesting animal sacrifice. Not by any means. The LORD had done away with sacrifice of lambs, bulls, goats, and the rest, when He established His New Covenant with Israel and with all mankind through His perfect and unblemished Eternal Lamb – His Holy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
The LORD sacrificed Him as our ultimate Passover Lamb. The Scripture says that He (Jesus) was sacrificed “once and for all” (Hebrews 10:10). This is why John the Baptist proclaimed that He was “the Lamb of God,” and why Revelation 13:8 describes Him as “the Lamb Who was slain from the foundation of the world.”
All the Biblical references to Jesus as the Lamb of God have led me to believe that the Passover prescription for God’s protection of His people hasn’t changed over the course of thousands of years. It still remains in effect, and I can testify that it works just as strongly today as it did in Moses’ day. I have been following this Exodus 12 prescription for over a decade now, and no evil, plague, or disaster has touched my home. Not one. Praise the LORD for His faithfulness.
Yes, His command to the Jews way back when remains the exact same to believers today: Mark our homes in the blood of the LAMB (of God) to receive His unparalleled Divine protection. He will indeed “PASS OVER” us when any plagues and judgments come upon this nation and world, just as He passed over His people thousands upon thousands of years ago.
I’m sure you are probably asking how exactly we are to “mark” our home in the Lamb’s blood? It’s simple, and will take less than 5 minutes of your time.
Instead of marking the doorposts of our homes in literal blood, you can symbolically mark and cover your home in the Blood of Jesus in a few different ways.
#1: Pray at the door of your home, or the home of a loved one, for the LORD to cover your home and family in the Blood of His Son for the entire year.
#2: In a visible act of faith, literally mark your doorposts symbolically in Christ’s Blood by using either grape juice or red wine.
I combine both of these steps at my doorposts each and every year.
On the eve of the Passover (or even on the day of), take your Bible in one hand and a cup of juice/wine in the other, and head to your home’s front door. Read Exodus, Chapter 12 (verses 1-23), aloud there. Proclaim to God that you’re symbolically marking your doorposts, not in the blood of a mere animal as His children of old had done, but in the unblemished Blood of His only begotten Son – the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus.
Next, ask Him to keep His faithful promise to always “pass over” your home as you faithfully follow His commands of Exodus 12. Dip your finger into the juice or wine and mark the sign of the Cross upon the center of your upper doorpost, and mark each side doorpost with the signs of Christ’s Cross as well. If you feel the need, pour the liquid down the two side posts, for a more visible appearance of blood running down your doors.
Finally, BELIEVE BY FAITH that the LORD will keep His promises of His Word to pass over you. And you can rest easy this Holy season all the way through the next Passover. When God sees the symbolic blood of His Son on your doorposts, He will pass over.
Tomorrow (Friday, March 26th at sundown) marks the start of the Passover feast. So, I suggest doing this ritual then, preferably between noon (sundown in Israel’s time zone) and 4 pm (3 pm is the hour Jesus died on the Cross).
If you can’t do this on the eve or day of Passover, then I’d suggest doing this act of faith any day during the seven-day Feast or on Good Friday (next Friday). Lord Jesus, our Passover Lamb, was crucified on a Friday at roughly the same time that the Passover lambs were being slain in the temple. So, that’s why Good Friday is a great substitute if you cannot mark your home on the actual Passover.
In the Biblical Greek language, what we now call “Easter” was originally known as “Pascha.” The word is derived from the Aramaic language and cognate to the Hebrew word “Pesach” – which meant “PASSOVER.” Jesus’ disciples celebrated and hallowed it, and our Lord Himself did as well before ultimately fulfilling it through His sacrifice. So, any Christians today who ignore it, saying it’s just some “Jewish holiday,” are not studying their Bibles and are missing out on spiritual and physical blessings that last year-round.
If God passed over His beloved people when they marked their homes in the blood of a mere animal, how much MORE will He not pass over believers today when we mark our homes in the Blood of His Only Begotten Son?!
The LORD rewards acts of faith. In the wise words of James – “Faith without works is dead.” (James 2:17) And Saint Paul said, “without FAITH no one can please God.” (Hebrews 11:6) If you dedicate your home to the LORD, in the blood of Christ, I can guarantee that your home and family will be more protected than ever before.
As I do every year, I will leave you with some Biblical verses to meditate on, which back up everything I taught in this article. It is my prayer that you all have a happy, healthy, and blessed Passover; and that you enjoy the same during Holy Week next week in the Holy Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He died for every one of you, and to prove that your faith in His sacrifice is not in vain… HE IS RISEN INDEED. HalleluYah!
“John saw Jesus coming unto him, and said, Behold the LAMB OF GOD, which taketh away the sin of the world.” – John 1:29 & 35
“He (Jesus) was brought as a LAMB to the slaughter.” – Isaiah 53:7
“… With the precious BLOOD of Christ, as of a LAMB without blemish and without spot.” – 1st Peter 1:19
“And it was the preparation of the PASSOVER (sacrifice), and about the sixth hour: and Pilate said unto the Jews, behold your King (Jesus)!” – John 19:14
“And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the Throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a LAMB as it had been slain… And when He (Jesus) had taken the Book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb…” – Revelation 5:6 & 8
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might BE SAVED.” – John 3:16-17
“And the Angel in the tomb said unto them, DO NOT FEAR; You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: HE IS RISEN; He is not here: Behold the place where they laid Him.” ~ Mark 16:6
It is definitely a faith thing. Without faith it is impossible to please God or receive the promised blessings of His Word. By His grace, we can be blessed sure, but to inherit the best of His promises it takes faith.
And I say annual protection because the Jews used the blood of a mere animal, and we are using the blood of the eternal Lamb of God – God’s only begotten Son. How much more protection will our homes receive covered in His blood as opposed to the blood of some animal?! Think about it! It offers eternal protection, but I like to mark my home annually as an act of faith offered as a sweet savour to our LORD. I believe He honors His Word and His promises to this day just the same as He did thousands of years ago. He never changes.
