The definition of a “rebel” is someone who renounces or resists the authority of a ruler, government or laws, to which one would otherwise owe obedience. Throughout the Holy Bible, being a rebel most always meant that you were playing for Satan’s side. Any rebellion recorded in God’s Word was, more often than not, against The LORD. I’m here to tell you today, that God appears to have flipped the script, and the world’s “rebels” are now fighting FOR God and against the Devil.
I titled this “Satan’s Biggest Mistake” because by pulling the world so far away from God and by normalizing abominable sin, evil, and wickedness, Lucifer now finds himself on the defense. Yes, since God-fearing believers are now the minority in a world so obviously under the rule of Satan, he has ignorantly turned us into the REBELLIOUS.
The Holy Bible teaches us that YHWH God The Father is the Creator of all and the Eternal Supreme Authority. While, Jesus Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Their Authority trumps all in Heaven and earth. Yet, since the fall of Lucifer from God’s Holy Heaven, we find that the LORD has allowed Satan to obtain a spiritual rule over the world. The reason for this, I believe, is to test those who dwell on earth.
Will we follow God or the devil? Will we live by God’s Laws or submit to worldly laws that are in opposition to Him? Will we remain faithful to God when a majority of the world willfully lives in disobedience to HIM? Saint Paul taught in Ephesians, that we were “dead in the trespasses and sins in which we once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience” (2:1-2). For those of you unaware, “prince of the power of the air” here refers to Satan.
1st John 5:19 says, “We know that we are of God, and the WHOLE WORLD lies in wickedness.” Satan, when tempting Jesus in the wilderness, actually tried to entice Jesus away from the Father in Heaven by offering Him joint rulership over the earth. Luke 4:5-6, and Matthew 4:8-9, record “The devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him ALL the kingdoms of the WORLD in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give You, and the glory of them: for that is delivered UNTO ME; and to whomsoever I will I give it.”
Jesus rebuked him sharply, as He and Satan both knew full well that the Father had made Jesus far MORE than a “prince” like Satan. 1st Timothy 6:15 makes crystal clear Jesus’ role as the KING of Heaven and earth. That is why Lord Jesus comes back in the End to rule and reign from Jerusalem as THE King of kings. Even Satan will have no choice but to bend a knee to our Lord and Saviour.
Until then though, Satan still has great power and authority over the earth, its kings, and nations. He is also not alone. The Holy Bible makes known that all of the angels that fell with Lucifer (Satan) became known as demons, who rule under Satan’s command on earth. The devil has a plethora of demon princes who are in charge of leading nations away from God. The Book of Daniel, Chapters 10 & 12, goes into great detail about this. Revelation 2:13 tells us that Satan even has a throne from which he rules.
Jesus referred to him as the “ruler of THIS world” in John 14:30. That is why Paul writes in Ephesians 6:12 that “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against powers, against the RULERS of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” So, us believers are currently abiding in a world under the rule and authority of Satan.
In the Old Testament, we read over and over again about God’s people rebelling against His Laws and Authority. Today, since so much of the world has departed from Him, there is no longer a need for them to “rebel”. Going against God’s Word and Laws in today’s day and age is normal. Seemingly everyone is doing it, without repentance. I think back to Genesis 6:5, just before God sent the Great Flood upon the earth.
He said “I see the wickedness of man is great in the earth, and that EVERY imagination of the thoughts of his heart are only evil CONTINUALLY.” That Chapter goes on to say how ALL FLESH was corrupting HIS ways on the earth. There is no true believer, who knows their Holy Bible, that can look at the earth today and deny that mankind mirrors Noah’s generation. This is also a prophecy of Christ’s Return to earth, when Jesus said that the earth will be “As it was in Noah’s Day” (Matthew 24:37) in the Last Days.
So now we have established the obvious, that Satan has turned much of the world against Almighty God and His Word of Truth. The old devil has no doubt led many, even believers, to prostrate at his throne of wickedness. Whether it be homosexual marriage being legalized globally, millions of God’s precious babies being murdered through abortion, anti-God theories like Evolution or Climate Change being embraced and taught as doctrine, or just flatout hostility towards the Holy Bible, the world has accepted Satan as ruler.
WE believers must not do the same, but rather, it is our time in history to turn the tables on the Devil and to poetically REBEL against him. The Devil is the current ruler, he is the current authority on this earth, and many of today’s laws are in complete opposition to Laws of God. This leads me back to my opening definition of a rebel – “Someone who RENOUNCES OR RESISTS the authority of a ruler, government or laws, to which one would otherwise owe obedience.”
So today, though for millenia, the old devil had led the rebellion, it is time for us believers to give him a dose of his own medicine. For Lord Jesus said in John, Chapters 17 and 18, that HIS Kingdom was NOT of this world, and that if His Kingdom were of this world, then HIS servants would FIGHT. While His Kingdom may not have been on earth when He was crucified, we now know that WE are children of His Kingdom and that we ARE on earth. He also said that we are NOT of this world, but that He chose us OUT OF the world.
So then it is our DUTY to rebel against the ruler of this world (Satan), and to FIGHT for our God and Lord on the earth. Satan’s biggest mistake was leading a majority of this current world against God, because in this world “rebellion” is cool. It’s always been hip to buck the system, and to go against the grain. Now that the whole world is comfortable with wickedness and sin, and most everybody on earth is “doing it”, the devil has ignorantly made being a Christian “COOL”.
Johnny Cash once wisely said, “Being a Christian isn’t for sissies. It takes a REAL MAN to live for God – a lot more man than to live for the devil.” AMEN. His words were prophetical. Today, it’s so easy to live for the devil, but it takes a unique boldness, courage, and now rebelliousness to live for GOD. As a Christian today, there can be no more blending in with Godless society, or staying silent in the devil’s playground. It’s time to REBEL.
It’s time to take the fight to Satan, and let him know that we won’t sit idly by while he models the world to his liking. It’s time to preach the Word of God boldly, unapologetically, and uncompromisingly to a world that doesn’t want to hear it. It’s time to buck the system, go against the grain, renounce Satan and RESIST his rule.
If that means disobeying laws of governments, such as taking part in Gay Marriage ceremonies, then we DISOBEY. If it means speaking out against Islam and false religions, LGBT pride, or Godless theories and movements (for which you’ll be branded a bigot or hater), then we SPEAK UP. Satan may think that he has the world right where he wants it to be, but he has no idea of the fire that he has ignited in myself and other believers.
The time has come for Christians to suit up for battle. The time has come to take the fight to Satan. The time has come to say “enough is enough”. The time has come, and has always been, to obey GOD rather than MEN. The time has come to fight the GOOD FIGHT of Faith. The time has come for REBELLION. Join me…
