Donald Trump declared “We will move the American Embassy to the Eternal Capital of the Jewish people, JERUSALEM” at the nationally televised AIPAC Conference this past March. President Trump pledged numerous times on the Campaign Trail, even on the eve of Inauguration Day, to move the Embassy. After many Christians, Jews, and Israelis gave their vote to Trump primarily because of this promise, he now seems to be backtracking on his pledge. This is one of the reasons why I could not bring myself to vote for him. I did not trust him to keep his word, and believed that he was just saying what we wanted to hear in order to get elected President. Sadly, though I don’t want to be right in my assumptions of Trump now that he is the Commander-in-Chief, it appears that I apparently was. When recently asked about his promises to relocate the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, he said, “I don’t want to talk about it yet. It’s too early.” When pressed on the pledge in other interviews since his Inauguration, he has said, “We’ll see what happens”, or “There’s a CHANCE”.
A “chance”?!? I don’t recall him saying on the Campaign Trail, “There’s a chance we may move the Embassy,” or “We’ll see”. No. He didn’t just casually SAY on one occasion, but rather PROMISED on multiple occasions, that he “WILL MOVE the American Embassy to the ETERNAL Capital of Israel, Jerusalem”. Yet today, like ALL Politicians do, now that he has assumed power, his promises have become empty and most likely BROKEN. An Arab newspaper recently reported that the White House informed Palestinian leadership that President Donald Trump NO LONGER planned to move America’s Diplomatic Headquarters in Israel “at this stage”. While a news report like that is deeply alarming, it’s easy to doubt, because it was only one source and an Arab news organization at that. We know that the Arabs want to do anything and everything that they possibly can to sway Trump not to move the Embassy. Yes, it would have been very easy to dismiss that news report, UNTIL Trump’s White House Press Secretary seemed to CONFIRM IT as true.
Just weeks after Trump’s Senior Adviser, Kellyanne Conway, and others in his Administration said that the embassy move was “a very big priority” for the President-Elect, Sean Spicer said last week that “NO DECISION” has been made on moving the Embassy. He said, “We’re at the very early stages of that decision-making process. The team is going to continue to consult with the State Department.” In layman’s terms, moving the Embassy is most definitely NOT “a very big priority” like others led Christians, Jews, and Israel to believe, if it even happens at all. In an interview with CBN News last week, Trump added even more doubt that he would keep his word, when he told an interviewer “The issue has two sides. I’m looking at it, we’re studying it. We’re studying it very long and hard. You know it’s a very big decision because every President for the last number of presidents, large number, they’ve come in and they were going to do it and and then all of a sudden they decide they don’t want to get involved.”
So, is Trump signalling he is just going to follow suit with all of the other past Presidents who have broken their Campaign vows to move the Embassy? Unfortunately, it sure sounds like it. Upon Trump being elected the next President, I wrote that my number one question was “will he keep the Campaign promises that he has made to Christians, Jews and Israel?” I also said that I would hold him accountable for every promise which he has made to us, and call him out on every one that he breaks. That is why I’m writing this article. While many of my fellow Christians are touting and rejoicing over his many Executive Orders and actions as President thusfar, they seem content with him reneging his most important Campaign pledge. When I inform other believers that he is breaking his Jerusalem Embassy promise, they most all respond angrily, saying “It’s only his first week, give him time!” Funny, he has already taken action on every other major Campaign promise, whether it be the Border Wall, Obamacare, abortion restrictions, national security, and the muslim refugee problem ALL in just his first week. Yet, he just couldn’t get around to keeping his pledge to our Greatest Ally, Israel?
If he were to just come out and say, “It’s gonna take time, but the process of the Embassy move has begun”, I and many others would be satisfied with that. Even if it didn’t get moved till next year, if he just would give a clear-cut statement that it IS going to happen as promised, I’d rejoice and apologize for doubting him. Sadly, he has done the exact opposite. He has spoken a lot about just how “pro-Israel” he is, and how things will be much different and better for Israel under his Presidency, but he is not taking the action that would prove his words are more than just political rhetoric. Actions speak louder than words. Obama proved that in his eight long years of hostility toward the Jewish State. He swore up and down about just how “pro-Israel” he was, but his words never matched his actions. His actions proved the exact opposite. President Trump has the opportunity to prove he is what he said he was, throughout the entire Presidential Campaign, which is “not another politician”. All he has to do is keep his word, and move the Embassy.
In order to truly put America FIRST, he must start with putting ISRAEL FIRST. America will never be great again if we don’t bless Israel in any and every way possible. God’s Word is crystal clear, that nations are blessed or cursed depending on how they treat His people Israel. Imagine the blessings that would come upon America if Trump unilaterally moved our Embassy to Israel’s God-given Capital? In essence, he would be telling the Godless United Nations and anti-semitic Muslim world that America fears The LORD God Almighty far more than their demonic threats. Instead, by cowering to their wicked demands, and not keeping his promise to Israel, he is catering to the wants of Islamic terrorists who desire to take Jerusalem and much of the Holy Land from the Jewish people. By choosing to appease the enemies of Israel, Trump and his supporters can not expect God to bless America again.
Until America starts going above and beyond to bless Israel, in order to counteract all of Barack Hussein Obama’s anti-Israel acts over the past 8 years, NOTHING WILL CHANGE for the better in the USA. The only reason, besides just flat out telling lies to get elected, that Donald Trump would not move the Embassy is because he wants to “make peace” between Israel and the Palestinians. The Palestinians are clear that they are only interested in “Land for peace”. So, instead of Palestinians just waking up one day and saying, “we don’t want war anymore”, or “we can live side-by-side with Jews in peace and harmony”, they continuously say “give us your land or we will kill you.” How in the world can anyone ever make “peace” with a people as hateful and barbaric as that? It’s not possible. It will never happen.
There will never be “peace in the Middle East” until the Prince of Peace, our Lord Jesus Christ returns. So someone needs to tell Trump that any and all efforts to bring peace will be in vain. If he is successful in brokering a 7 year peace deal between Israel and it’s Islamic neighbors, that is a Last Days Prophecy that eventually leads to the Battle of Armageddon. It is a lose-lose for Trump and America, so I pray that he does not take that route. Unfortunately all signs point to him, the author of the “Art of the Deal”, as desiring to be the one to make the long elusive “Peace Deal”. He said in the Republican Primary Debates that he would be “NEUTRAL” in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He pledged to give the “Peace Deal” (which would DIVIDE the Holy Land of Israel and give some of the Jewish State’s Holiest Cities to the murderous Palestinians) “one hell of a shot.”
Trump said, “If I do win, there has to be a certain amount of surprise, UNPREDICTABILITY. Our country has no unpredictability.” I’ve said it before, when it comes to Israel, we should ALWAYS be predictable in standing shoulder to shoulder with the Jewish State. The Donald went on to say, “I think it serves no purpose to say that you have a good guy and a bad guy. It doesn’t do any good to start demeaning the neighbors (Palestinians), because I would love to do something with regard to negotiating peace, finally, for Israel and for their neighbors. And I can’t do that as a negotiator, I cannot do that if I’m taking big, big sides.” So, if Trump doesn’t keep his promise to move the Embassy to Jerusalem, we will all know why. It will be because he desires making a name and legacy for himself in the world far more than he desires to bless God’s Chosen Nation of Israel. Shame on him if this is the case.
Remember the words of Joel the prophet before you make that costly error Mr. President –
“Thus saith The LORD; I will gather ALL NATIONS, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat (Judgment), and will JUDGE THEM there on behalf of My people (the Jews) and on behalf of MY Heritage ISRAEL.. for the nations have DIVIDED MY LAND.” ~ Joel 3:2
In just over a year, the Palestinians have carried out hundreds upon hundreds of terror attacks against Israel, leaving over 40 dead, including 2 Americans. There is no reason for America to appease them like Obama did. They have NO CLAIM to any of Israel’s Land, and read my article “JERUSALEM: The Eternal Capital And Promised Land Of Israel Alone” for all of the reasons why. The murderous Palestinians are the enemies of Israel, and thus they should be America’s enemy. Trump should withdraw any and all U.S. funding from Palestine, the United Nations, all Islamic nations, and any other nations that do not share our Judeo-Christian values and beliefs. All of that money which Obama and past presidents have been gifting to nations who hate our God, hate Israel and hate America, we could be instead giving to our only true Ally in the world, Israel, and we would have more than enough money to erase the trillions of dollars in U.S. debt.
You would think, that under a Republican-controlled American Government, we would finally have the sense to do that, but sadly, I don’t think today’s Republican Party thinks quite like me. We will know for certain whether or not Trump intends to keep his promise to Israel of moving the Embassy by June. Trump can refuse to sign a waiver on “The Jerusalem Embassy Act” this May, which became U.S. Law in 1995, and which calls for the Embassy to be moved to Israel’s true Capital. If he instead takes the route of recent RINO Republican and Democratic presidents, then he will sign another waiver that prevents this Law from being enforced.
Obama signed a six-month waiver early in December 2016, in order to deny any Embassy move until June. Of course, Trump could override Obama’s waiver TODAY if he wanted to, but so far it looks like that is not going to happen. If Trump truly was the “Law and Order” President that he has claimed to be on many occasions, then he needs to FOLLOW THE UNITED STATES LAW of moving the American Embassy where it has belonged since our founding, in the Eternal Holy City and Capital of Israel, JERUSALEM. Until he does, we need to hold his feet to the fire, hold him to his promise, and make sure he hears our voices by lighting up his beloved Twitter with the hashtag #MoveTheEmbassy!!!

“The LORD does build up JERUSALEM: He gathers together the outcasts of ISRAEL.” ~ Psalm 147:2
“As birds flying, so will The LORD of hosts DEFEND Jerusalem; defending also He will deliver IT; and passing over He will preserve IT.” ~ Isaiah 31:5
“And it SHALL come to pass in that day, that I will seek to DESTROY ALL the nations that COME AGAINST Jerusalem, saith The LORD God.” ~ Zechariah 12:9
“Thus saith The LORD God: Surely I will take the children of ISRAEL from among the nations, WHEREVER they have gone, and will gather them from EVERY side and bring them BACK into their OWN LAND.” ~ Ezekiel 37:21
Ok President Trump we need to keep our promise to Israel.
