Since Christmas Eve, I’ve seen many headlines like “Rare Weather Turns Winter Upside-down Across the United States”. In the Northeast, we are experiencing record warm temps for the Christmas season, while the South is enduring an onslaught of rare December Tornado outbreaks. Plus, we may even see a historic blizzard hit Texas this weekend. At least 25 tornadoes have hit the Southern States since Wednesday. The worst of the storms have hit Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, and even Michigan. The Detroit News reported that a Wednesday tornado was the FIRST recorded tornado in Michigan in the month of December. These are all SIGNS of the times.
Last night, a series of tornadoes and dangerous storms ripped across North Texas. The storm blew roofs off of homes, mangled vehicles or turned them upside down, damaged buildings, downed power lines, toppled trees, and caused natural gas lines to burst. One witness said it resembled a “war zone”. The carnage was spread over a 40-mile long area. In Garland, Texas, one of the hardest hit cities, a police spokesman said that a tornado which hit in Southeast Garland damaged several houses and an apartment complex.
As if last night wasn’t bad enough for Texas, forecasters say that rare blizzard conditions are expected today through late tonight, with snowfall amounts of 10 to 18 inches across much of Western Texas. This potential blizzard is also forecast to bring 18 to 24 inches across parts of New Mexico and Oklahoma. It is estimated that there are 1.2 million under a blizzard warning this evening.
Meanwhile, in the past 4 days, deadly storms and floods ravaged Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Alabama. The Governor of Alabama has declared a state of emergency due to the heavy flooding, and fierce tornadoes which struck on Christmas Day. One of the twisters touched down in Birmingham, the State’s most populated City.
Flooding from the heavy downpours has left much of the Southeastern U.S. under water. Record rainfall fell in some areas. 4 inches of rain drenched Mobile, Alabama, on Wednesday, which dwarfed the previous record of 2.2 inches set 25 years ago. It is being reported that 15 MILLION Americans are under the gun for the next round of severe weather today. So you’re probably wondering, what’s with all the rare, extreme, unnatural weather we’re experiencing, and have been experiencing more and more each year?
It sure isn’t “global warming” or caused by “climate change”. That is the answer of secular men to explain away the Judgment of a Holy Just God. The Holy Bible tells us that God uses storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, blizzards, flooding, and other natural disasters as signs of Judgment or of His Wrath. Smaller, less severe disasters are meant as WARNINGS to lead a nation to repentance and back to Him.
When the people do not heed His warnings, the storms increase in severity, eventually until there is no remedy. The Book of Revelation foretells that the people of the Last Days will be so far removed from The LORD, that not only will they not repent when He sends down His Judgments and plagues, but they will actually mock and even CURSE God. It’s no surprise to me that this rare extreme weather has fallen during Christmas.
This Nation has increasingly, year after year, pushed CHRIST His Son our Lord, out of the Celebration. Whether that is the reason for God’s Wrath, or whether it be Obama’s consistent mistreatment of Israel, or the legalization and acceptance of Gay Marriage, or the sin of abortion, or the rise of false god worship in this land, one thing is for sure, God has MANY reasons to judge America. So, how will this Nation respond to the current round of judgments? With repentance? Sadly I doubt it. With a renewed fear of God? Again, sadly, it doesn’t look like it. Or with DENIAL that God is judging America? Unfortunately, I believe the latter will be the response.
Americans today accept the lie that it’s all just random weather caused by climate change, because they don’t want to admit that this Nation is displeasing The LORD in so many ways. They don’t want to acknowledge that this has become a nation laden with sin. This is similar to the response of the people in the Book of Revelation. Many Americans today laugh, mock and scoff at the idea of God “judging the nation” like He judged the nations of old. Many today believe that the Holy Bible is just a bunch of “fictional stories”, as opposed to historical truth. It is because of this attitude that God’s judgments will only get WORSE.
Lord Jesus said that extreme weather would be one of many “birth pangs” that usher in His imminent Return (the Rapture) and the End of the Age. Until He comes to get us believers in the Rapture of the faithful, as things get worse and worse on planet earth, take comfort that He KNOWS those who are HIS. The Father in Heaven will faithfully PASS OVER your home when His Judgments come down, just as He passed over His precious Israelites when He smote the nation of Egypt.
God honours those who FEAR HIM. Sadly, right now, much of America does NOT. So, while us believers have nothing to fear while all of these disasters strike all around us, the rest of this nation DOES need to fear and REPENT, because things are going to get much WORSE. Get right with The LORD today. Tomorrow may be TOO LATE.
