The August Complex is the largest wildfire in the history of record-keeping in California. It is a combination of at least 37 fires in Northern Cali that burned more than 470,000 acres before merging with the Elkhorn Fire to scorch nearly 750,000 acres of land as of Friday. It is only 25% contained at the time of this article.
There are currently about 30 major wildfires in the state. They were mostly sparked by thousands of lightning strikes in August. Three of them have made the list of the Top 5 largest wildfires ever recorded in the state, and five of them have made the Top 10. Here’s where they stand on the list right now –

9 of the 10 largest fires in California’s history have occurred in the past 10 years, and 17 of the top 20 have occurred in the past 20 years. Do you scoffers still think that our generation is “just like all the rest that came before us,” and that there is “nothing to see here.”
More than 3.5 million acres have burned in the state thus far since the start of the year, and this wildfire season isn’t even at its peak yet. About 4,000 structures have been destroyed, and nearly 70,000 residents have had to evacuate.
Of course, the Godless liberals of Cali will not repent and turn to the LORD for His forgiveness and mercy. Instead, from the highest office in their land of the Governor – to the many Biblically-hostile celebrities and musicians – down to the atheist hippies on the streets, they all blame it on “climate change.” They continue to look for any excuse to not acknowledge their many blatant sins against the God of gods.
There are currently over 100 large fires burning close to 5-million acres across 12 states in the Western U.S. and Alaska. Over 1-million acres have been burned in Oregon alone, and half a million residents are under evacuation orders in that State.
I penned a whole chapter on the rare and historic wildfires that our generation has witnessed in my second book, Even More Signs of Our Times. Here is an excerpt for those who’ve yet to read it –
The top 7 worst years for wildfires, since 1980, all came after 2007. They were 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2018. Does anyone else notice the correlation between the exact years that America began turning away from God (more so than ever before) and the years that wildfires got worse? Much like other historic disasters that have recently devastated the USA, you can directly connect the time frame of America’s falling away from the LORD to the worst wildfires in our nation’s history. And it is not climate change, though the Godless liberals would like you to believe it is. It’s God’s judgment. It’s the consequence of rejecting His Word, forgetting His Laws, and widespread blasphemy.
Both 2017 and 2018 greatly eclipsed this decade’s average of 6-million acres burned per year. Roughly 10-million acres were burned across the U.S., and well over 3-million acres of land were burned in California alone, during both years. In the fall of 2017, there had been about a dozen wildfires that were burning out of control in California. Tens of thousands had been evacuated, and thousands of structures were destroyed. Two of the State’s largest wildfires, “Tubbs” and “Atlas,” burned an area of wine country that was 3-times larger than Washington, DC. At their peak, the fires were advancing at a rate of more than a football field “every three seconds.”
A State of Emergency was declared in counties affected by the wildfires, and President Trump had declared a Major Disaster in California. Significant damage was done to at least a dozen wineries, and at least 7 pot farms were completely destroyed. God consistently condemns alcohol and drug use in His Word, so I do not believe that these locations were burned by coincidence. The very next year (2018) California experienced the most destructive wildfire outbreak on record.
During the summer, nearly 20 wildfires were burning across the State at the same time. The biggest of the bunch, “Mendocino Complex Fire,” became the largest wildfire in State history. The blaze consisted of two fires, the “Ranch” and “River” Fires, in northern California. The flames had burned over 450,000 acres of land. At the same time, the “Carr Fire” burned nearly 230,000 acres in Redding, California. A record-breaking Flame Tornado, dubbed the “Fire Whirl,” sprung up near Redding. The tornado was measured as an F-3, which is virtually unheard of in Cali. The State had not recorded a tornado of that strength in 40 years. Like in the previous year, President Trump declared a Major Disaster in the State.
A few months later, in the fall of 2018, the next California wildfire outbreak was described in headlines as “Hell on Earth.” It consisted of three large fires – “Camp, Hill, and Woolsey.” The fast-moving blazes led to the evacuation of tens of thousands in northern and southern Cali, including the home city of Godless celebrities – Malibu. Many celebrity homes had been damaged or destroyed, including the home of Miley Cyrus.
The “Camp Fire” in northern California had literally burned “Paradise” to the ground. The town was home to nearly 30,000 people. Cal Fire Captain Scott McLean said, “The community of Paradise is destroyed, it’s that kind of devastation.” Thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed in the fire, and a State of Emergency was declared for Butte County – where Paradise was located. The fire grew uncontrollably, according to officials, at a rate of about 80 football fields per minute. The inferno scorched over 150,000 acres, and it was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in State history.
All of these rare, historic, and unnatural wildfires that our generation has experienced are not the result of “global warming” or “climate change”; nor are they the work of “Mother Nature.” There is no Mother Nature, but only a Father God in Heaven. He alone makes the weather and pours out disastrous judgments if they are merited. They are never by chance.
That is why the modern day Sodom and Gomorrah of America, California, has continuously been hit hardest by God’s wrath over the course of the past decade. Heck, just two years ago, Cali’s government actually tried to BAN THE BIBLE because they viewed it as “offensive” and “discriminatory.” Is it any wonder the state that has forgotten God the most in this nation has been turned into a literal burning Hell? Psalm 9:17 is being fulfilled before our eyes.
Until Californians learn to repent and turn to the LORD, their State will continue to burn year after year. This isn’t a prediction, but rather a GUARANTEE.
