FIRST PREVIEW: Exclusive Look into New Book’s Chapter on RACISM

Since we are only three weeks away from the release of my second book, EVEN MORE Signs of Our Times, my next 3 articles will be previews of what you have to look forward to on March 7th. The first preview is the first few pages of Chapter Four, which is about RACISM. Enjoy…

Chapter Four: Racism

“For the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.” ~ 1st SAMUEL 16:7

In all my years of writing, I have only touched on the issue of racism a few times. This is because I do not believe that we can ever eradicate the disgusting ideology by giving its adherents attention. Unfortunately, with the rise of social media in our day and age – which has given a platform to the dregs of our society – hate for others based on their skin color has spread like a plague. So, just as I had felt that the Lord called me to address the hot-button issues of abortion and LGBT “Pride” from a Biblical perspective in my previous book, I believe that He has led me to tackle this issue.

The mainstream news media constantly airs pundits debating about how we can stamp out racism today. Yet, at the same time, they air protests and rallies highlighting racist groups. I believe that they irresponsibly add more fuel to the dangerous fire by doing so, and create more division – not less.

I will not be tackling this issue from the Right or Left side of the political aisle. While it is well known that I lean to the Right politically, as a staunch conservative Christian, I believe that the term “right-wing” has been hijacked. There are far too many unabashed racists claiming to belong to “the Right” side of the political spectrum. They most certainly do not belong there. That is not to say that “the Left” does not have their share of racists on the fringe of the Democrat Party, because they most certainly do.

The brands of racism may be different on the opposite sides of the political aisle, but they should all be condemned exactly the same. Unfortunately, one form of racism is far too prevalent today on both sides of the aisle – anti-Semitism. There are the Jew-hating White Supremacists on the alt-right, and the anti-Israel Muslims on the hard-left. Both Republican and Democrat parties would be wise to condemn them loudly and often.

I address the scourge of anti-Semitism in my first book. So, take a moment to read it if you have not done so already. In this chapter, I will focus on the other forms of racism that are rife in our nation today. For starters, there are both whites and blacks who claim to be Christian and yet peddle racially-divisive belief systems. Thus, I question their faith; because I do not believe that a true believer in Christ can ever see other human beings “in color.”

Our God in Heaven is colorblind. As His children, we are called to be too. The LORD looks on the hearts of men, and not on the shade of their skin. From the Beginning, God has only viewed the human race in two ways – believer or unbeliever. Either you choose to honor and serve the true God of Heaven and Earth, or you dishonor Him by choosing to follow after false gods. You do one or the other.

When you do the first, it does not matter if you are white, black, brown, red, or yellow – God knows you, and you are His child. If you do the latter, then being light-skinned or dark-skinned doesn’t matter in the slightest to the LORD – God doesn’t know you, and you are a stranger to Him. All that matters to God is obedience to His Word and Will for your life. If you are defiant, and don’t accept the sacrifice of His Son on your behalf – as atonement for your disobedience – then being born white or black cannot save you. You are going to Hell. Plain and simple.

In the end, we will all be judged on our faith alone. Nothing else. We will not be judged in regards to how much money we made, nor by how many kids we raised; not by worldly positions we held, nor by the size of our homes; not by how kind or generous we were to others, nor by any good deeds which we have done. The only thing that God will care about, come Judgment Day, is whether or not you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ to reconcile your unholy soul unto your Holy Creator.

There are believers all across this world – from every nation, background, culture, tribe, and color. When we are “in Christ,” we are all equal in God’s Sight. I am not any more favored by the Lord than an African believer, Jewish believer, Arab believer, Spanish believer, or an Asian believer. We are all “one race” in Christ Jesus. We are one family. We are all members of His Church, regardless of our denomination. We are all members of “one body” – of which He is “the Head” (Romans 12:4-5, 1st Corinthians 10:16-17 & 12:12, Ephesians 1:22 & 2:19-22 & 4:15-16 & 5:23, Colossians 1:18).

Though I am a “white man,” I may actually have more black men and women as my “brothers and sisters” than I do other whites. Whosoever is washed and covered in the Blood of God’s Son is part of my family. Whosoever isn’t… is not my brother or sister. They are strangers. A black believer in Jesus Christ, who believes every word of the Holy Bible just as strongly as I do, is moreso “family” to me than a blood relative who does not believe.

No one particular skin color makes you superior over another human being. God wills that all men and women, everywhere – of every color – would come to Him through His Son, the Prince of Peace. Then, and only then, can we experience true peace and equality in this divided nation and world. These two long-sought-after things cannot be obtained through any government, political leaders, laws, or “affirmative action”; but can only be found in God alone. The growing racial tension that is sweeping the nation is one of the many consequences of forcing God out of America – at a time when we need Him more than ever.

As believers, we must not grow weary in preaching His Word and shining His light in this dark nation – whether our fellow citizens want to hear it or not. If we just sit back – resigned to the belief that things won’t change, and keep God’s unifying message of salvation all to ourselves – America may soon find itself in another Civil War. We must perpetually preach Faith above race; because if any Holy Bible believer is placing their race over Faith, then their faith is meaningless. You and I are Christians, above all else.

That label should set us apart from every other group in this world. We should not ever be engaged in “race wars.” We should not be part of “race-based” groups, and especially not ones that stage violent protests or riot to make their voices heard. We should not be known for being Caucasian, African American, Hispanic, Indian, Native American, Arabic, or Asian. We should only be known to others as Christians.

The only “race” that has ever had a special place in God’s heart is the Jews – His Chosen people. All the rest of us are simply known as “Gentiles,” as far as race is concerned. If you ever had to fill out paperwork in Heaven and there was a “race” section, I believe there would only be two options – “Jew” or “Gentile.” Period. And God wills that both would be united in Christ, the King of the Jews and the Saviour of the world. In God’s Kingdom, there will be no “White Power” and no “Black Power.” There will only ever be “Power in the Blood of Jesus.”

To read the other pages of this chapter, you’ll have to get the book in three weeks! Also, within the next few weeks, I’ll be releasing the Audiobook for my first book THE SIGNS OF OUR TIMES.
