LIBERAL HYPOCRISY: Kneeling In Prayer Is Ridiculed, But Kneeling In Protest Is Revered

Apparently, in the minds of liberals today, Freedom of Speech and Expression should apply to everyone everywhere… EXCEPT Christians. When Holy Bible believers publicly express our Faith, and the beliefs thereof, we are told to “shut up”, to keep it to ourselves, and are shouted down as “bigots”. Yet, when anyone else publicly expresses anti-Christian, anti-God, Biblically-hostile, or anti-American beliefs, they are simply exercising their “freedom of speech”. Has anyone else noticed this utter hypocrisy? 

One of the biggest examples of this gross double standard is the Colin Kaepernick “take a knee” movement in the NFL. When the devout Christian Quarterback, Tim Tebow, would take a knee in prayer to the Lord during games, the mainstream media would go berserk. Yet when another Quarterback, and Black Panthers’ admirer, Colin Kaepernick, takes a knee in protest during America’s National Anthem, the media can’t praise him enough.     

There are so many examples of hypocrisy in the media today, and I have compiled a few of them. MSNBC recently said, “When a NFL player kneels in protest, it’s UNIFYING”. MSNBC also said (when Tebow was kneeling in prayer every week), “Kneeling in prayer is POLARIZING”. So, bringing God onto the football field is “polarizing”, but bringing divisive politics into the game is “unifying”? I think it’s the other way around. I also think the folks at MSNBC are a bunch of HYPOCRITES. 

“The Nation” sports editor, Dave Zirin, accused the NFL of “moving backwards 30 or 40 years” because of allowing Tebow to kneel in prayer. Yet, flash-forward to today, and this same sportswriter is saying that Colin Kaepernick will be remembered as “an inspiration” for his kneeling in protest. He has said that the NFL must get him a job because he is the “greatest political lightning rod in sports”. Wow. Can anyone say HYPOCRITE. 

Another liberal columnist, Bill Press, tweeted “If the #americanflag stands for anything, it stands for the RIGHT NOT TO STAND.” Press has been retweeting pro-Kaepernick memes and articles, lauding the activist player as a “hero”, “icon”, and “role model”. What did this same writer say about Tim Tebow? “Everybody wants to make him a hero. I think he’s a disgrace. I think he’s an embarrassment.” Well, I think we have another HYPOCRITE. 

CBS writer, Dan Bernstein, dismissed Tebow as “little more than an affable simpleton”. He also slammed his fans and followers as “lunatic-fringe cultists”. Funny, Bernstein’s Twitter timeline today is filled with tweets praising NFL players who kneel during the Anthem, as well as retweets from “lunatic-fringe” Kaepernick cultists. Everyone say it with me… HYPOCRITE.

Everyone is familiar with the controversial atheist comedian, and talk show host, Bill Maher. For those of you that didn’t follow the act of “Tebowing” that rocked the NFL world, a little over 5 years ago, Bill Maher absolutely hated Tim Tebow. He couldn’t stand the fact that a man, with such a large secular audience, was drawing attention to Almighty God. So Maher verbally attacked, insulted, and consistently mocked Tebow for taking a knee in prayer during a football game. Well, I’m sure many of you didn’t see it this weekend (for good reason), but on Maher’s HBO “Real Time” show, the Tebow-hater TOOK A KNEE “in honor of Colin Kaepernick”. Such a HYPOCRITE. 

There are many more examples of hypocrisy regarding Tebow and Kaepernick in the news media, the sports world and in Hollywood, but hopefully these few got my point across. The liberals of this country are all in favor of Freedom of Speech and Expression when it has to do with any other cause besides God and the Gospel. Tim Tebow championed both. 

They wanted the man who proudly wore a Cross, and donned the words John 3:16 on his face, to lose his job in the NFL for “kneeling” in prayer. Yet, those same critics are now calling for Kaepernick, who promotes anti-American Islamists like Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, and the Black Panthers, to be rehired by the NFL for “kneeling” in protest. This is the textbook definition of a double standard.

It isn’t just Tim Tebow though who isn’t afforded the same Freedoms as men like Kaepernick in the eyes of the liberals. An assistant high school football coach, Joseph Kennedy, was recently fired for kneeling in prayer to God after games. Meanwhile, at other high schools, colleges and even grade schools across the nation, coaches are kneeling in solidarity with Kaepernick’s cause, and not losing their jobs. 

This unjust hypocrisy extends to every area of life in this nation. In the coming weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will issue a ruling on the case of a Colorado baker who refuses to make cakes for Gay Weddings. The Court’s decision will be extremely important to the legal fates of believers across this nation, such as calligraphers, florists, photographers, and tailors who have refused to participate in same-sex weddings. 

I pose the question, does this current standard of violating conscience and Faith apply only to Holy Bible believers? Unfortunately, the answer is YES. Imagine if black lives matter activists were forced to make cakes for, or provides services to, the Ku Klux Klan or White Supremacists? Do you think a court would rule that it would be discrimination if they refused? I doubt it.

What if a Hillary supporter was forced to make a pro-Trump cake, or provide services to a Trump Rally? Would it be ruled discrimination or bigotry if they declined service? I think not. Finally, what if my Jewish brothers and sisters were forced to make a cake for Nazis? Obviously, they should never have to. I rest my case. It seems as if only God-fearing Christians are being forced to violate their beliefs in America today.

Just this week, I read a story about the Satanic Temple encouraging its supporters to order Satanic cakes from Christian bakers that object to catering to Gay Weddings. Representatives of the temple said, “Because religion is a protected class, a baker may refuse service to LGBTQ people, but they may not refuse service based upon someone’s religion. If they aren’t willing to make a cake for same-sex unions, let’s have them make a cake to honor Satan instead.” Newsflash, Satan worship is not a “religion”, it is an evil abomination with no place in any society, let alone Judeo-Christian America. 

Sadly, even after the Republican landslide victory in the 2016 Election, Christians are still under attack across this nation. Lord Jesus said that, in the Last Days, we believers would be mocked, hated, persecuted, and even treated as criminals for His Name’s sake and for believing God’s Word. No need to look deep into the future for those “Last Days” which He prophesied, because those days are undoubtedly HERE. The message from the loud liberal voices in this country are clear, “CHRISTIANS ARE NOT WELCOME”. Their other message is, “CONFORM OR ELSE”. 

Friends, even if the whole world comes against us, we must never cower or put our Faith on the backburner. We are living in a Godless generation, in which God expects us to be bolder and get louder, and we must not join the masses in doing evil. We know what is right, and we know what is wrong. We cannot stop doing right, in order to appease those who do wrong. America will never be “great again” until we believers bring this nation to their knees HONORING GOD, as opposed to dishonoring the national anthem.
