A Year To Remember: 5777 Brought Historic Signs, Warnings, And Judgments

5777… There has never been another year like it in my lifetime. It did not disappoint my expectations, when I wrote that “I truly believed the year was primed for something Biblically monumental to take place”. I also said, “Whether it’s the Rapture, a Biblical War, a historic disaster, or another Biblical Prophecy fulfilled, all I know is that something BIG is coming in 5777.” We definitely witnessed many Prophetical Signs, Warnings, and Judgments in the form of historical disasters take place. We saw once-in-a-century Supermoons and Total Solar Eclipses, and historic hurricanes.

My article, 5777: Year of The Rapture?, has been one of the most popular articles of the past year. In it, I explained why 5777 was the most significant year on the Biblical Calendar for believers today. My biggest hope, the Rapture occurring, may not have come to fruition, but that doesn’t mean that the Event has been cancelled by God. By no means. While there are still about 7 days remaining in the year, our Lord may have other plans. 

I believed that 5777 was the year that would make the most sense for the Rapture of the faithful, and I gave multiple reasons why. Perhaps The Father wants to see if His children will be just as eager about His Son’s Return in 5778, 5779, or in 5780, as they have been in 5777? All I know is, we are assuredly in the “SEASON” of the Rapture, while no one can know the exact “day or hour”.

To be clear, unlike some Christian writers and teachers, I did not say that Jesus would indeed come to Rapture us this year. Though, I also made clear, that there was no better year in my mind than 5777 for the event to occur. One of my biggest reasons for this belief, was that this generation will only live through ONE Biblical Year which bears God’s Holy number, and that will be 5777. As I wrote in the article, the number 777 is attributed to our God and Father, YaHWeH.

As if that were not reason enough, I gave many other reasons why 5777 would be a year filled with Biblical Signs. #1, it closed out the Biblical Jubilee Year (only coming around once every 50 years), which followed the Shemitah Year (coming once every 7 years). #2, 5777 was the 50th Anniversary of Israel’s reunification of the Jewish State’s God-given Holy Capital of Jerusalem. #3, an accurate 800 year old Rabbinical Prophecy predicts the Year 5777 will BEGIN the Season of the Messiah’s Coming (in our case, His RETURN).

So, if anything, though I already believed before 5777 that we were in the Season of the Rapture, the Year may have “officially” kicked off the Season in God’s Eyes. Our generation has been the FIRST in history, since Christ ascended to Heaven around 2,000 years ago, to see ALL of the signs of His Return, as well as all of the signs which the Old Testament Prophets gave of the “Last Days”, FULFILLED or coming to pass. We are currently not looking for Christ’s “Second Coming” to earth, as that occurs only after the 7 Year Tribulation.

We Christians are looking for the RAPTURE of the faithful, and all of the signs pointing to this momentous Event are HERE. It is no surprise, that many more of those signs occurred in 5777. So, as this all-important Biblical Year is coming to a close at sunset on September 20th, Rosh Hashanah, I wanted to take a look back at just how BIG 5777 truly was. In this article, I will review all of the historic Signs, Warnings and Judgments that occurred over the past Holy Year.

Before I do though, I wanted to make sure everyone understands why 5777 is not the same as 2017, and why the Hebrew Calendar is different from our modern Western Calendar. Rosh Hashanah is known as the “head of the year”, and is the Jewish New Year. It is like our New Year’s Day, only on God’s Biblical Calendar. It is a 2-Day Biblical Feast, and it begins and ends at sundown, on the 20th and 22nd of September. Biblical days run from sunset to sunset.

The Feast is known Biblically as Yom Teruah, or the “Feast of Trumpets” (Leviticus 23:23-25, Numbers 10:9-10, 29:1, Nehemiah 8:1-12). The shofar (trumpet) is traditionally blown each morning for the entire month of Elul, the month preceding Rosh Hashanah. The sound of the shofar is intended to awaken listeners from their “slumbers” and alert them to coming JUDGMENT. 

Did America and the world experience JUDGMENTS of God in 5777? If your answer is not “yes”, you were obviously not paying attention or live on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. Let’s review all that the LORD was doing to get our attention in the Year bearing the numbers of HIs Holy Name…

FEAST OF TABERNACLES BLOOD MOON & SUPERMOON

God ushered in the Biblical Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), like he had done the 2 previous Holy Years, with a Sign in the heavens. In the Shemitah and Jubilee Years’ Feasts of Sukkot, Blood Moons arose. On the eve of 5777’s Feast, a Super Blood Moon rose, and on the actual Feast Day we witnessed the second largest Supermoon of the century.

SUPERMOON-EVE EARTHQUAKE IN “CHRISTCHURCH”

On the eve of the Supermoon of the Century, a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked New Zealand. As if the timing of the quake wasn’t significant enough for Holy Bible believers who closely observe the signs of the times, the New Zealand city dominating global headlines was “CHRISTCHURCH”. We believers that study Biblical Prophecy strongly believe that the Rapture of Christ’s Church is ever on the horizon. So it is not so much the powerful earthquake that caught my attention, but the fact that in the Year 5777, on the eve of the historic Supermoon, the word “CHRISTCHURCH” topped the headlines of every major news source in the world! 

SUPERMOON OF THE CENTURY

On November 14th, the Moon made it’s closest approach to earth in nearly 70 years. It will not be that close again until 2034, and the absolute closest full moon of the 21st Century won’t arrive until the year 2052! So the Supermoon was extremely rare, and was the largest in our CENTURY. 1948 was the last time that the Moon and our planet had been in such close proximity, which just so happened to be the most Prophetical year since Christ left the earth.

It was the year that the Nation of Israel was REBORN! God’s Word tells us that “He appointed the Moon for SEASONS” (Psalm 104:19). A “season” in the Holy Bible doesn’t always mean Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter. A season can be an appointed time for mercy, grace, reaping, judgment, or prophecy fulfillment. Given all of the recent signs in the Moon, I believe we are in the season of something truly historic BIBLICALLY.

EARTH’S HOTTEST YEAR ON RECORD

In 5777, Earth officially experienced its hottest year since record-keeping began in the 1800s.

CHRISTIANS WERE MOST PERSECUTED GROUP IN THE WORLD

In 5777, a Christian was murdered every 6 minutes. Nearly 100,000 Christians were martyred for their Faith. According to an Italian research group, The Center for Studies on New Religions (Censur) study concluded “Christians were the most persecuted Religious group in the world”. 

BIGGEST LACK OF BIBLICAL KNOWLEDGE IN AMERICA’S HISTORY

In 5777, according to disturbing studies, over 50% of Americans rarely or never read the Holy Bible. Only 1 in 10 hold a Biblical worldview. Only 25% of American Christians feel they have a personal responsibility to share the Gospel with others, and only 40% believe that the Holy Bible is truly the “Word of God”. 37% of Christians today say reading the Holy Bible is important but “NOT essential” to being a Christian, and over 20% say that reading it is NOT an “important part” of their Christian “identity”.

If the Word of God is not part of your life or “identity”, then rest assured, YOU will not be identified as a believer by our Lord come judgment day. Only 11%, or 1 in 10, have read the entire Bible once. Only 36% believe the Holy Bible to be “TRUE”, 34% call it “A STORY”, and 14%  say it is “OUTDATED”. If God’s Word is truly outdated in America, then that sure explains why America’s best days appear to be BEHIND HER.

RUMOURS OF WARS

In the year 5777, Israel continued to be threatened by most nations of the world, namely their Islamic neighbors, and Russia. Also, North Korea continuously threatened the United States of America, as it successfully tested ICBMs (InterContinental Ballistic Missiles) which can hit the United States for the first time ever. When asked by His disciples about the signs preceding His return to earth in the Last Days, one of the responses which Lord Jesus gave to them was that “there would be wars and rumours of wars”.

Many unbelievers and Holy Bible scoffers say “there have ALWAYS been wars”, and yes there certainly have. Since they do not understand the Holy Bible or latter day Biblical prophecy though, they are unaware that the wars Jesus spoke of are any wars that took place after the time period 1948-1967. That would mean that every war prior, including World Wars 1 & 2, were not considered signs of His Return.

Rumours of Wars: Biblical Battles on the Horizon

WORLDWIDE TERRORISM REACHED AN ALL-TIME HIGH

Lord Jesus said that “As the days of Noah were”, so shall the days on earth be in the Season of His Second Coming. In Noah’s days, “the earth was FILLED with violence”. The Hebrew word used for violence in this verse of Genesis is “HAMAS”, which means TERROR and the shedding of innocent blood. It is very interesting that the word which God used to describe terrorism in the first Book of our Holy Bible is actually the name of Palestine’s largest Terror Group. So, Jesus was prophesying that the world would be filled with terrorism in the Season of His Return. New figures from the Global Peace Index, in 5777, revealed that WORLDWIDE terrorism has reached an ALL-TIME high, fulfilling His Prophecy. 

50TH ANNIVERSARY OF REUNIFICATION OF JERUSALEM

One of the most important Prophecies fulfilled in the our generation was Israel’s reunification of their Biblical Capital City, JERUSALEM, after only a 6-Day War in June of 1967. In 5777, we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of this miraculous event. This Biblical Prophecy was not only beyond significant for the Jewish people and the Nation of Israel, but for Christians as well. Lord Jesus prophesied that the rebirth of Israel, and their reclaiming of ancient Homeland, would signify THE generation that would see His RETURN to earth.

ONCE-IN-A-CENTURY TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE SERVES AS WARNING TO AMERICA

On August 21st, an extremely rare Total Solar Eclipse crossed the United States for the first time in a Century. It was the first coast-to-coast total eclipse since 1918, and I believe it had a Prophetical meaning. The eclipse occurred at the very end of the Hebrew Calendar month of Av, and just before the start of the month of Elul, known as the month of “repentance”. In my article, Will God DIVIDE America?: Once-in-a-Century Total Eclipse Could Be a Final Warning, I explained why I believed that the eclipse was a Divine warning to America concerning Israeli-Palestinian “Land-for-Peace”.

In my second eclipse article, America’s Eclipse And JERUSALEM: The Remarkable Connection Amplifies God’s Warning, I laid out undeniable evidence that backed up everything which I presumed in the first article. I had explained that the path of the total solar eclipse on August 21st drew a line directly across the heartland of America. I said that this was important because President Donald Trump was unfortunately continuing the previous administration’s quest to make a “Peace Deal” between Israel and the Palestinians.

Any Deal will most assuredly DIVIDE the God-given Holy Land of Israel, specifically JERUSALEM. The division of the Land is what the LORD prophesied will bring His Wrath upon the nations. I warned in many articles over the past few years that, if America has a role in the division of God’s Land, GOD will “divide” America. So, as Trump continues to push hard for Israel to give up “Land-for-Peace” to Palestine, it is no surprise that God would use the rare event in the heavens to literally draw a line right through the heart of America.

1ST JUDGMENT: HURRICANE HARVEY

On the SAME DAY, and in the SAME HOURS that a U.S. delegation led by Jared Kushner, President Trump’s adviser and son-in-law, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to renew the stalled Israeli-Palestinian “Peace Process”, the first major hurricane to strike Texas in 12 years FORMED. In the meetings, Kushner reiterated Trump’s commitment to finding a lasting solution to the conflict though an “ultimate deal”. The White House said in a statement released on Thursday night that the meetings were “productive”. Many asked, “why Texas though?” I believe it was symbolic.

Texas is known nationwide as the “Lone Star State”, and coincidentally, there is another place on earth known as a Lone State State – ISRAEL – bearing the Star of David on it’s Country’s Flag. The record-shattering Category 4 hurricane was the longest a Texas landfalling hurricane remained a named storm after landfall since 1971. The storm poured over 50 inches of rain, the greatest amount ever recorded in the Lower 48 states from a single storm. Harvey is expected to be the most expensive storm in U.S. history at over $190 billion, surpassing Hurricane Katrina. Also, climatologists have called Harvey the worst rainfall event in America’s history. 

2ND JUDGMENT: HURRICANE IRMA

While Harvey was still wreaking havoc on the Lone Star State, and surrounding States, another monster hurricane was forming in the Atlantic, known as IRMA. Unfortunately, the President didn’t learn from Harvey to stop pushing “Land-for-Peace” on Israel. It was reported that Trump himself would meet with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian President Abbas on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. His administration said the meetings will focus specifically on laying a foundation for the “Peace” talks.

Category 4 Hurricane Irma made landfall in the U.S. on the FIRST DAY of the week that Trump will hold UN “Peace” meetings. The UNGA officially kicks off on September 12th. Irma officially made landfall in the U.S. on September 10th. Irma was one of the strongest storms ever recorded, packing 185 mph winds before striking America. It made landfall in the Caribbean as one of the strongest Atlantic storms ever recorded. It is the first storm ever observed, in any ocean, to sustain winds of 185 mph for longer than 24 hours.

Irma maintained 185 mph for 37 straight hours. Irma’s arrival into Florida, following Harvey in Texas, marked the first time on record that two Category 4 Hurricanes had made landfall in the United States in the same year. Hurricane Irma generated enough accumulated cyclone energy to meet the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s definition of a FULL Atlantic hurricane SEASON. 

By itself, it was more powerful than 18 of 51 full hurricane seasons since 1966. Hurricane Irma covered the ENTIRE State of Florida, and also impacted surrounding States with hurricane-force winds and record flooding. At least 25% of homes in the Florida Keys were destroyed, and at least 65% of homes suffered major damage from Irma, according to FEMA. That is 90% of the Keys.

Anyone who studies the Holy Bible knows how symbolic the numbers 7, 3, and 12 are to Almighty God throughout history. I believe that it is no coincidence that Harvey was the worst hurricane to strike Texas in 12 years, and that Irma was a Hurricane for 12 days. For those of you unaware, there are 12 Tribes of ISRAEL. If you can’t see the connections between America, Israel, the Eclipse, Harvey and Irma, then you are spiritually BLIND.

Sadly, President Trump has not stopped his push to form a “Peace Deal” between Israel and Palestine, so I believe many more judgments of the LORD are en route. Now, if 5777 doesn’t bring the Rapture, there is no doubt that it was still a historic year to remember. The events of the past year will be talked about for decades, if not centuries to come. Lord willing, Christ will return long before that, and I still believe that He will SOON. Any believer who can ignore all of the signs around us, especially those throughout 5777, must not want our Lord to return at all.  

These Christians are of the crowd that love to quote the verse from the Book of Matthew (24:36) where Jesus says, “of that DAY and HOUR knows no man, no, not even the angels of Heaven, but My Father only.” They use this verse as an excuse to not look for or acknowledge the signs. This is dangerous for a Christian to do. As Jesus said, that we would not know the “Day or Hour”, but that we WOULD KNOW the Season.

Back up just a few verses in the same Chapter of Matthew, verse 33, when Jesus says, “When you shall SEE all these things (signs), KNOW THAT I AM NEAR, even at the doors.” So, while my fellow believers may love to shout we won’t “know”, I’m inclined to believe my Lord over them. Jesus also commanded us in Matthew (24:44-46) to be “READY” and alert for His imminent Return.

He said, “Be you READY: for in such an hour as you think not I WILL COME. Who then is a FAITHFUL and wise servant, whom his Lord has made ruler over His household, to give them meat (teaching on His Return) in DUE SEASON? Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when He comes shall find so DOING.” It is true that we can never know “the Day and Hour” because the world is set up into different time zones. September 14th, here in America, is the 13th or 15th of September somewhere else across the globe. That is why you will never hear me promoting an exact day or month of the Rapture, like the Harold Campings of the world.

I always say “SEASON” of the Rapture. Christians cannot put any creedence in theories of Christ returning on September 23rd, or any other specific day. I have not talked about September 23rd, because I believe there are too many holes in the theory, and it’s just not as Biblical as people are saying. Will Jesus return on one of the Biblical Feast Days? It’s very possible, as God completed many past prophecies of Christ through Feast Days. Though, the fact is that we will never be able to pin down which exact Feast Day He will come, nor in which year. That is up to God.

While I do agree that we will never know the EXACT “day and hour”, this argument of many Christians today is going to be the reason why many believers will be LEFT BEHIND. If you are not anxiously awaiting, anticipating or expecting the Rapture of the faithful, then WHY would The Lord take you up IN IT?! If you’re too comfortable in this wicked world and don’t want to leave it, then assuredly, you most likely will not.

I believed that 5777 would truly be the year of our Lord rapturing us, but God has other things in mind. I believe one of those things is the Israeli-Palestinian “Land-for-Peace” process. God appears to be warning America to back off His Chosen Nation, and to tell Palestine to take a hike. I believe each day and each year that the Rapture is delayed, is especially so that more souls can be saved.

2nd Peter 3:9 says that “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise (Rapture), as some men count slackness; but is patient toward us, not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.” Thus, every day that our Lord does not come is a merciful blessing to the rest of mankind. It is another chance to repent, come to Christ, and be reconciled to God.

So, while I and many believers eagerly await our Lord to say “Come up hither” in the Rapture, we must also recognize that the angels in Heaven rejoice over ONE SINNER who repents, even moreso than 99 righteous who are living Holy lives. The Rapture is near, so tell everyone you know, believer or not, that NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION. Now is the time to REPENT and RETURN to the LORD. If the events of 5777 haven’t awoken unbelievers, and put a fear of God inside of them, then I don’t know what will. Even still, MARANA THA, come quickly Lord Jesus!
