The Pro-Putin Problem: Republican-Russia Romance Needs To END

As a student of the Holy Bible, and specifically Bible Prophecy, it really bothers me when I see Christian Conservatives and the Political Party that is supposed to represent us buddying up to Vladimir Putin. I’ve been noticing this disturbing trend in my social media circles for a while but, since Donald Trump won the Presidential Election, the pro-Putin sentiment has definitely spread amongst my fellow Right-wingers. I’m writing this article to remind all of you who have forgotten why Holy Bible believers have long opposed Russia and their dictatorial leader. Four years ago, at the Republican National Convention, Presidential nominee Mitt Romney got a raucus and rousing applause when he said that a Republican Administration would show Vladimir Putin “more backbone”. Yet, flashforward to today, and President-Elect Trump along with some of the same high ranking Republicans who cheered Romney’s tough talk against Russia are now calling for a closer relationship with the Communist country. This embracement of Russia is wrong for so many reasons.

Throughout 2016, I saw many posts on social media from so-called Conservative Christians defending and, even some praising, Russia’s dangerous leader Vladimir Putin. Many of them would make pro-Putin propaganda go viral, sharing memes and articles about his support for traditional marriage, opposition to LGBT activism, and his politically incorrect stance against Islam. This caused many, understandably, to view Putin in a positive light. On top of that, apparently he’s not a big fan of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, which would obviously make him appealing to Conservatives. Though, while we may agree with Putin on these issues, there is much more to Putin than you’ll read in a 140 character tweet. He has done far more that Christians do NOT agree with and which we strongly oppose, than he has ever done that we support. Putin is not a friend of true Christians, nor Israel, nor the United States of America. Vladimir Putin is only concerned about Vladimir Putin. He is a dictator in every sense of the word.

Case in point #1: He is ANTI-Israel

While my Christian friends have been as critical as I have been about Barack Hussein Obama and his disgusting mistreatment of Israel, they have not batted an eye while Putin has opposed Israel even more so than the sitting American president. Putin’s hostility toward Israel has been no surprise to me because I know my Holy Bible. God’s Word is crystal clear that in the season leading up to Lord Jesus’ Return, MANY nations will come against God’s Chosen Nation, Israel, in the Gog-Magog War which ultimately becomes the Battle of Armageddon.

God mentions by name the Nations who will attack Israel, and they are: IRAN, LEBANON, TURKEY, CHINA, PALESTINE, JORDAN, LIBYA, EGYPT, SUDAN, all ISLAMIC and AFRICAN Nations, and ETHIOPIA. The one nation whom God pays the most attention to in the Prophecy, and who actually leads the war campaign against the Jewish State, is RUSSIA.

Russia has made numerous public THREATS against the Jewish State since Putin assumed power. Russia is the greatest ally of IRAN on the world stage. Putin has sent an abundance of high-powered weaponry to Iran and held many JOINT MILITARY exercises. This is hugely prophetical, as they are the 2 Nations whom God says will lead the invasion of Israel.

Around 3,000 years ago, God’s holy prophet Ezekiel said that Russia would make war upon Israel in the Last Days, and would lead China and an Islamic Confederacy of Nations (Ezekiel 38 & 39…Psalm 83…Isaiah 19…Revelation 16:12). The Holy Bible dubs the battle the “Gog-Magog War”. The name “Gog” refers to the Last Days’ Leader of Russia, which would be Putin, and “Magog” refers to the people of his land. The Magogites are the modern-day RUSSIANS.

In Ezekiel’s prophecy, he also mentions “Rosh, Meshech and Tubal”. Rosh in the Hebrew is also translated as Rucia, which means “Russia” in English. Meshech is translated as Moscovi, which means “MOSCOW”. Tubal is obviously what we today call “Tubalsk”. For those of you unfamiliar with modern geography, these are both cities in Russia.

In what is dubbed the Eurasian Alliance, Russia’s two closest friends on the world stage today are China and Iran. How accurate is God’s Holy Word of Truth?! So many prophecies are being fulfilled before our very eyes. Because Russia and Iran are “BFF”s, Russia never opposes Iran when it threatens Israel, as much of the rest of the world does. Any negative measures taken against Iran in the United Nations are most always vetoed by Russia. Meanwhile, when the United Nations targets Israel in the Security Council, Russia most always supports the anti-Israel resolutions or condemnations.

When I and many others lashed out at Obama, the most ANTI-Israel president of ALL-TIME, for allowing the recent anti-Israel resolution to pass at the UN by not using America’s veto power, Russia was among the 14 nations who voted FOR IT. So while we Christians and Jews are up in arms with Obama, as we should be, why then are many of my brothers and sisters today letting Vladimir Putin off the hook?

Case in point #2: Putin is supporting, strengthening, and arming Israel’s ENEMIES

Russia’s military protection of Syria’s wicked leader, Bashar Assad, has not only caused deadly chaos in the country and Middle East region as a whole, but has been in direct opposition to United States forces on the ground and in the air. Fighting alongside Iran in Syria’s civil war, Russia has helped Iran to expand it’s “axis of resistance” against Israel and America.

Recently, Israeli officials were alarmed when they discovered that Russia has placed advanced surface-to-surface ballistic missiles in Syria. An Israelli satellite imaging company, ImageSat International, said its EROS B satellite captured photos of two vehicle-mounted SS-26 “Iskander” missile launchers in northern Syria. The Iskander is a missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads, with a range of 400-500 kilometers.

Israel is rightly worried that these dangerous weapons could fall into the hands of Iran’s terrorist groups in Palestine or Lebanon, Hamas and Hezbollah. Hezbollah is currently fighting alongside Russian, Iranian, and Syrian regime forces, and is committed to “blowing Israel off of the map.”

Russia currently has the most nuclear weapons in the entire world, even more than the United States of America. All thanks to the disastrous foreign policy of Obama. As of 2017, Russia has nearly 450 more nuclear warheads than the USA. Due to the 2011 New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), which we all knew Putin would not abide by, Obama brought America’s nuclear weapons arsenal down under the capped 1,550 agreed to in the Treaty. While Russia on the otherhand, did not do away with any of their arsenal, but rather, added more.

Russia is said to have at least 1,800 nuclear warheads deployed. It’s no wonder that Russia is the nation prophesied to lead all the other anti-Israel countries of the world against the Jewish State in the Last Days. They definitely have the firepower to do so, and since Obama didn’t take the Russian threat seriously until they allegedly hacked Hillary Clinton and the DNC, America currently won’t be much of a match to the nuclear powerhouses of Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea.

I praise The LORD that He Himself will be Israel’s Defender when Russia makes it’s military attack, because with all of the nukes that Israel’s enemies currently have, only God could possibly save them. And mark my words, HE WILL, When Russia comes against Israel, even with 100,000 nukes, they will FAIL and FALL.

Case in point #3: Putin is an ANTICHRIST

Last year, Putin approved several laws that placed tighter restrictions on Christian missionary activity and evangelism in Russia. The Kremlin enacted laws against sharing faith in homes, online, or anywhere except recognized Church buildings. The laws are considered the country’s most restrictive measures in post-Soviet Union history.

In order for Christian citizens to share their faith publicly they must secure a government permit through a registered religious organization, and they cannot evangelize anywhere besides churches. The restrictions even apply to internet activity, even if done from your home.

Already, since the laws were enacted a few months ago, an American pastor has been charged for conducting a religious service in a private home, and sticking an advertisement in a public place inviting people to the service. The law bans religious gatherings in homes and regulates promotion of religion in the public square.

The pastor was charged and convicted for gluing 2 Gospel tracts to a bulletin board in an apartment building, and for conducting a religious service in his home. The 55-year-old pastor, Donald Ossewaarde, was arrested in August and fined 40,000 rubles, just over $600 U.S. dollars. Russia’s anti-evangelism law carries fines up to $780 U.S. dollars for an individual, and $15,500 for an organization. Foreign visitors who violate the law face deportation.

So after what you Christian Conservatives have read today, do you still think the U.S. should grow closer with Russia? Do you think the President-Elect should be so friendly with an antiChrist leader like Vladimir Putin? Will any members of the Republican Party still defend Putin in the mainstream media, and ignore his many crimes against Christians and Israel? If your answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then you are not Conservative, nor are you a Christian.

It’s high time for Donald Trump and Republicans to end their blossoming love affair with Vladimir Putin, and for my fellow believers to stop going along with it. Putin is our enemy, and Russia is not and never will be our Ally. Russia is an antiChrist and anti-Israel country, led by a communist dictator, and we should treat it as such.

“Thus saith The Lord GOD… Behold, I Am AGAINST GOG, the chief (RUSSIAN) prince of Meshech and Tubal… Gog shall come up AGAINST My people of ISRAEL as a cloud to cover the Land; it shall be in the LATTER DAYS; and I will bring him against MY Land, that the heathen may KNOW ME, when I shall be sanctified in Gog, before their eyes… And it shall come to pass at the SAME TIME when Gog shall come against the Land of Israel, saith The Lord GOD, that My FURY shall come up in My Face.
