2016 HEADLINES: Year In Review

2016 is in the books, and so it’s come time to take a look back at all of the most Biblically prophetical news of the year. Many news sites are rolling out their lists and reviews of the top news stories from 2016 but, to my knowledge, none of them focus on the “signs of the times” of the past year. Only Biblical Signs In The Headlines brings you up to speed on 2016’s fulfilled prophecies, and all of the signs throughout the year which have pointed to the imminent Rapture of the faithful. If you are a Holy Bible believer, and do not keep up with the daily news, this article is the only one you will need to read to get up to date on everything of Biblical significance that occurred in the year 2016.

JANUARY

* Disasters *: On the Anniversary of Abortion Legalization in America (Roe V. Wade), a historic Blizzard wreaked havoc in numerous States, namely the Nation’s Capital, Washington D.C. (home of the SCOTUS). Three feet of snow fell in some areas, wind gusted up to 65 mph, and hundreds of thousands lost power.

* Islamic Terror * Anti-Semitism * Israel *: 3-month-long wave of terror against Israel carried over into the new year. As of the first month of 2016, 30 Israelis had been murdered, and nearly 300 were injured by Palestinian terrorists.

* Economic Woes *: To open the trading year in the Stock Market, China’s Market had a 7% crash, triggering 2 emergency shutdowns in one week, and resulting in China’s shortest trading day IN HISTORY. America, Europe and Asia also saw tremendous historic drops in just a 4 day span. An 1150 point drop of the Dow, in the first week of 2016, cemented the WORST start to a Year for America’s Stock Market EVER. The Nasdaq lost 6.5% in only FOUR DAYS.

FEBRUARY

* Islamic Terror * Anti-Semitism * Israel *: By the 2nd Month of 2016, 31 Israelis and one American had been murdered by the Palestinian terrorists. There were over 140 stabbing attacks, over 40 shootings, and over 25 vehicular attacks. From October 2015 through February 2016 there were about 250 Palestinian acts of terror against Israel.

* AntiChrist President * False god Worship * Politics *: In what many called a double standard and gross hypocrisy by the sitting president, Obama gave a speech at an Islamic Mosque in front of a wall displaying the name “Allah” 99 times. Yet, he ordered the Name “JESUS” to be COVERED UP when he gave a speech at a Catholic University. As if that wasn’t bad enough, The White House staff were all gifted Qurans at the event by the president, while of course no Holy Bibles were gifted at his Catholic event.

MARCH

* LGBT Agenda * Christian Persecution * Politics *: Major American Corporations and Hollywood superpowers joined with the LGBT community to bully and threaten Christians into submission. RINO (Republican in name only) Governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal, caved to the demands of corporate bullies, and VETOED a Religious Liberty Bill. The Bill aimed to protect Christian Pastors and Churches, Jewish Synagogues, and Faith-based businesses from performing services that violated their Biblical beliefs (namely Gay Marriage ceremonies). The Governor was publicly threatened by the NFL, Disney, and many other powerful corporations, that if he did not veto the bill then they would stop doing all business in Georgia. The Governor chose the almighty dollar over Almighty God. SHAME!

* AntiChrist President * Anti-Semitism * Israel * Politics *: Sources close to president Obama revealed that his administration was weighing a highly controversial plan to use the “anti-Israel” United Nations to IMPOSE a “Peace Deal” upon Israel with Palestine. In a last ditch effort to force the Jewish State into a Deal, which would divide the God-given Holy Land of Israel and give some of the Holiest Cities to the terror-State of Palestine, the White House was plotting to use the UN Security Council as a vehicle.

APRIL

* AntiChrist President * Islamic Terror *: President Obama revealed his plans to bring in over 350 Muslim refugees from Syria into the United States EVERY WEEK, about 1,400 each month, until September 30th. His administration announced they would “fast-track” the arrival of refugees in order to fulfill his commitment to the United Nations of bringing 10,000 into America by the end of fiscal year 2016. Obama consistently defended his Syrian refugee screening process, saying that they were the “most thoroughly vetted” of all immigrants, going through an arduous process lasting 18 to 24 months. Yet, his new plan overlooked national security concerns and the safety of the American people, and EXPEDITED the process, cutting the screening period from 18-24 months down to just 3 months.

* False god Worship * Sinful Society *: New York City revealed plans to erect a lifesize replica of the temple of BAAL, chief of the Biblical false gods, in the heart of Times Square. The reproduction of Baal’s temple was constructed by organizers from the Institute of Digital Archaeology for “World Heritage Week”. It was a 50-foot tall, 25-foot wide, 3D-printed replica of the entrance arch to the temple. Despite fierce opposition by Holy Bible believers, it was unveiled a few months later.

* Disasters *: The largest and deadliest earthquake in 30 years struck Ecuador, a massive 7.8 magnitude quake. The earthquake came just two days after Japan was struck by 2 equally massive earthquakes, 7.1 and 7.4 in magnitude. Two nights earlier, a 6.9 magnitude quake struck Myanmar, causing damage across the region in places like Nepal and India.

MAY

* Islamic Terror * Christian Persecution *: A muslim mob in Cairo, Egypt, stripped an elderly Christian woman and paraded her nude on the streets during an attack in which 7 Christian homes were looted and torched. Egypt’s top Christian cleric said that the 70-year-old woman was dragged out of her home by the mob who beat her and insulted her before they stripped off her clothes, and forced her to walk through the streets naked, as they chanted “Allahu Akbar” which means “Allah is great.”

* AntiChrist President * Radical LGBT Agenda * Christian Persecution * Politics *: The Obama Administration took forcing it’s Godless agenda upon the Nation to a whole new level, as Obama ordered his Justice Department to sue the State of North Carolina. Attorney General Loretta Lynch publicly announced the lawsuit, arguing that North Carolina’s House Bill 2, better known as the “bathroom bill”, violated parts of the Civil Rights Act and other federal laws. The Obama Administration accused the State of using the Bill to discriminate against the “transgender” community. When in reality, and in a moralistic world with common sense, the Bill was meant to keep women and children safe from sexual predators. The Law simply required what has ALWAYS been required in America, that public bathrooms or changing facilities “be designated for and only used by individuals based on their biological sex.”

JUNE

* Islamic Terror *: A muslim terrorist who pledged allegiance to ISIS brutally massacred over 50 patrons at “The Pulse”, a gay night club in Orlando, Florida. Over 50 more were injured. It was the deadliest mass shooting in American history, and of course, the ideology behind the attack was of the “peaceful religion” of Islam. The shooter, identified as Omar Mateen, was of Afghan descent and living in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Mateen was known to the FBI, and came to the attention of federal authorities twice prior to being identified as the gunman in the Orlando nightclub mass jihad shooting.

* Disasters *: Heavy rains caused torrential flooding throughout Texas, Kansas and South Carolina. Thousands were evacuated. Since November 2015, there were 10 major flooding events in the United States. Never before in U.S. history have there ever been so many major floods in such a short period of time.

* Islamic Terror * Christian Persecution *: A muslim mob looted and torched Christian homes in Egypt. Over 80 Coptic Christian families were affected by the attack, leaving many injured. The Islamic mob destroyed all construction materials being used to construct a new Church. They then turned their anger toward two brothers, Naim and Mousa, who were responsible for construction of the Church, leaving both men beaten and severely injured. After attacking the brothers, the mob hurled rocks at nearby Christian homes, looted some, and set fire to as much Christian property as they could. Damages were estimated to be around 500,000 Egyptian pounds (About 30,000 U.S. dollars).

* Economic Woes *: The United Kingdom officially voted to leave the European Union, and the news triggered global financial volatility and panic. In the 2 hours following the “Brexit” vote results, America’s Dow Jones Stock Futures fell nearly 750 points, the S&P dropped over 100 points, and the Nasdaq plummeted down around 225 points. Britain’s FTSE futures were down about 9%. Japan’s Stock Market experienced their worst day in 5 years. The Nikkei lost over 8% triggering a circuit breaker which halted trading. The British pound plunged to a 31-year low.

JULY

* Islamic Terror * Anti-Semitism * Israel *: As of July 1st, at least 34 Israelis were dead, and over 300 had been injured after 9 months of terror attacks by Palestinians.

* Islamic Terror *: Nearly 100 more victims were claimed by Islamic terror in Nice, France, as a muslim terrorist drove a truck into a large crowd of people attending “Bastille Day” fireworks. A witness said that the truck plowed into the crowd at full speed, “crushing everyone in it’s path.” Another witness said that people were tossed around like “bowling pins” upon being struck by the truck, in what some reports say was a 2 to 3 mile vehicular attack. French authorities said that they found the truck loaded with guns and grenades. France had been in a State of Emergency since an Islamic terror attack in Paris last November. Muslim terror groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS both urge their followers to use vehicles as weapons to “mow down” the infidels (non-muslims).

AUGUST

* Anti-Semitism * Israel *: Nearly 45 years after 11 Israeli athletes were murdered by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Munich Olympics, anti-Semitism toward the Jewish State reared it’s ugly head at this year’s RIO Olympics. The Anti-Defamation League released a statement after numerous racist acts against the Israeli Olympic Team, saying, “These days, anti-Israel violence at the Olympics has been replaced by anti-Israel politics, with representatives from countries hostile to the Jewish State going to great lengths to avoid any interaction with Israeli athletes.”

* False Prophets * Islamic Terror *: Following the brutal murder of an elderly Catholic priest by Islamic terrorists in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, France, a reporter asked Pope Francis “why he never mentions Islam when condemning terrorism”. Even after the 85-year-old priest, Jacques Hamel, had his throat slit “in the name of Allah” during Mass, Francis neglected to name Islam in his remarks. Francis said “the world is at war, but not with ‘Religion’”. He said that “it is wrong to equate violence with Islam, and that the characterization of Islam as a violent Religion is untrue.” He then took his defense of Islam further, by trying to equate it with Christianity, saying, “If I speak of Islamic violence, I should speak of Catholic violence. I believe that in pretty much every religion there is always a small group of fundamentalists.” While there is a group of fundamentalists in every Faith, devout Christians, Catholics, Buddhists or Hindus are not BEHEADING unbelievers. Francis went on, “Some might think it is war of Religion. It is not. All religions want peace.” The Pope was wrong on ALL COUNTS.

* Disasters *: Devastating earthquakes, multiple tornadoes and historic flooding in Louisiana dominated news coverage. In what was described as an “Apocalyptic scene”, the town of Amatrice in central Italy was reduced to a pile of rubble after a strong and shallow quake.

SEPTEMBER

* Disasters *: Biblically named Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on numerous islands before hugging nearly the entire East Coast of the United States, and leaving behind destruction in it’s wake. Matthew began as a tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean and was officially designated a potential threat by the National Hurricane Center on September 24th. MATTHEW 24 is one of the most Prophetical Chapters in the entirety of the Holy Bible, as Lord Jesus Christ gives believers the signs of the times to watch for which signify the Last Days. At one point, Hurricane Matthew reached a massive Category FIVE storm strength. Matthew became the lowest latitude Category 5 Hurricane in the Atlantic ON RECORD (beating out Hurricane Ivan in 2004). It was also the most powerful Hurricane in nearly a decade.

* Anti-Semitism * Israel *: A study by the watchdog group, AMCHA Initiative, found that anti-Semitism skyrocketed nearly 50% on College Campuses in the past year. After examining over 100 public and private colleges and universities, the concerning study found that 287 anti-Semitic incidents occurred at 64 schools in just the first half of 2016, compared to 198 occurrences that took place during the same time last year, reflecting a 45% percent spike. The number one contributor to the rise of Jew-hatred in American Colleges was the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The AMCHA report revealed that campus events which deny the right of the Nation of Israel to exist (which nearly tripled in 2016) correlate directly with “conduct that targeted Jewish students for harm.”

OCTOBER

* Signs In The Heavens *: On the Biblical “Feast of Tabernacles” (Sukkot), God ushered in His Holy Feast with a Sign in the heavens, a SUPERMOON. The moon came to the second nearest position to Earth (222,365 miles), behind only November’s Supermoon which was 1,000 miles closer. Normally, the earth and moon are nearly 240,000 miles apart. The moon appeared 14% larger than average, and 30% brighter. On the Eve of the Biblical Feast, a rare Super BLOOD MOON rose! The past two Tabernacles’ Feasts have been accompanied by Blood Moons, and this year’s Supermoon was preceded by a Blood Moon! Does God have your attention yet?!

* 5777 BEGINS *: At sundown on October 2nd, the Biblical New Year 5777 began. We closed out the Biblical Jubilee Year (only coming around once every 50 years), which followed the Shemitah Year (coming once every 7 years). 5777 is the 50th Anniversary of Israel’s reunification with the Jewish State’s God-given Holy Capital of Jerusalem, and the number 777 represents our GOD (YaHWeH). There is also an accurate 800 year old Rabbinical Prophecy that predicts the Year 5777 will begin the Season of the Messiah’s Coming (in our case, His RETURN).

* Anti-Semitism * Israel *: The United Nations agency, UNESCO, adopted another anti-Israel resolution, but this particular resolution was not only one of their regular attempts to delegitimize the Jewish State, but also to erase and REWRITE HISTORY. The crooked UN uplifted Islam and the desires of muslims over Judaism, Christianity and Biblical Truth. UNESCO garnered enough votes by it’s member nations to pass a resolution which denies Jewish connection to the Holiest City in Jewish history, JERUSALEM. The UN now officially disregards Israel’s Biblical and historical claims to the Holy City, including two of Judaism’s Holiest sites. The UN now refers to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall by Muslim names, and no longer in Hebrew or English terms. A special section of the resolution claims the sites are now only sacred to the Islamic faith. The resolution is a blatant utter falsehood and a disgraceful denial of God’s Word and world history.

* Christian Persecution *: On October 15th, six Christians were arrested in Pakistan as Cable TV operators in the Islamic country were raided for broadcasting Christian channels. Pakistan’s oldest Christian satellite broadcaster “Isaac TV” was censored, along with “Catholic TV”, and 9 other Church-run television stations. The shutdown of Christian programming came after the nation’s TV regulatory body declared the content illegal. On September 23rd, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) sent a notice to all regional general managers to “STOP transmitting 11 illegal TV channels immediately.” The ban of the stations left Pakistan’s Christian minority with absolutely no public media presence for the first time in nearly two decades.

NOVEMBER

* Signs In The Heavens *: On November 14th, the Moon made it’s closest approach to earth in nearly 70 years. It will not be that close again until 2034, and the absolute closest full moon of the 21st Century will not arrive until the year 2052. So this Supermoon was extremely rare, and was the largest of our CENTURY. 1948 was the last time that the Moon and our planet had been in such close proximity, which just so happened to be the most Prophetical year since Christ left the earth. It was the year that the Nation of Israel was REBORN!

* Politics *: In an Election night shocker, Republican candidate Donald Trump defeated the democrat candidate Hillary Clinton to become America’s President-Elect. On top of that, the Republican Party won majority control of the Senate, House, and State Governor seats. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Democrats lose power, but I am also cautiously optimistic. I say pleasantly surprised because if you have read any of my political articles, you know that I believed America’s Elections are rigged by a corrupt liberal media and the elite powers-that-be against Christians. I also say “cautiously” optimistic because while a Republican President and Congress would have been music to my ears 4 years ago, the Party did a lot to lose my support in this Election season. Not to mention, I endorsed Ted Cruz for President, and was firmly “never Trump” since he became the GOP nominee. I will be watching closely as to whether or not Trump and the Republicans will keep their many campaign promises to Christians.

* Disasters *: On the eve of the Supermoon of the Century, a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked New Zealand. The New Zealand city which dominated the global headlines because of the quake was CHRISTCHURCH. The temblor was centered 57 miles northeast of the city. We believers that study Biblical Prophecy strongly believe that we are living in the Last Days, and that the Rapture of Christ’s Church is ever on the horizon. So it is not so much the powerful earthquake that caught my attention, but that in the Year 5777, on the eve of the historic Supermoon, the word “CHRISTCHURCH” topped the headlines of every major news source in the world!

* Israel * Islamic Terror * Anti-Semitism * Disasters *: As we Americans celebrated Thanksgiving, the Holy Land of Israel was ablaze with wildfires, in what appeared to be a new form of terror attacks against the Jewish State. What started as a handful of brushfires turned into nearly 20 wildfires burning across the Country. About 60,000 residents of Israel’s third-largest city, Haifa, were evacuated as the fires approached their homes and buildings. Prime Minister Benjamin NetanYahu spoke out strongly against the perpetrators, saying that anyone implicated in these acts of terror would be punished severely. “(Arson) is a crime for all intents and purposes”, he said, “and in our opinion this is TERROR for all intents and purposes.”

DECEMBER

* AntiChrist President * Anti-Semitism * Israel * Politics *: It was reported back in March that sources close to president Obama revealed that he was weighing options on how he could betray America’s greatest Ally, Israel, one last time before leaving Office. One of the options which the president was considering was supporting a United Nations Security Council resolution which would define the terms for the creation of “Palestine”, or a resolution targeting what the UN calls “Jewish settlements”. Obama would either vote in favor of one of these anti-Israel resolutions, or allow one of the measures to pass by not vetoing it. Obama did exactly that, and on the eve of Hanukkah no less! The Obama administration allowed the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution that harshly condemned Israeli “settlement” construction, and stated that the land should be given to Palestine for their future “State”. Obama broke longstanding U.S. policy by not using America’s veto power. He truly cemented his legacy as the MOST anti-Israel president of ALL-TIME.

* Radical LGBT Agenda * Christian Persecution *: Like the Benham Brothers, another pair of Christians on HGTV were being demonized by the LGBT mafia and liberal media, and just like with the Benhams’, the radical bullies pressured HGTV to cancel the hit show. The devout Christian couple was Chip and Joanna Gaines, and their show “Fixer Upper” is one of the most popular series on the network.

Also, even after the Republican landslide victory in November’s Election, Holy Bible believing Christians remain under attack by the U.S. Government. Christians are still being forced to violate their Biblical beliefs concerning Gay Marriage, and if they refuse, they are being punished with hefty fines and even jail time.

Christian-owned Timbercreek Bed and Breakfast was forced to pay a gay couple $80,000 for refusing to host a same-sex wedding ceremony. In Connecticut, an openly gay Comptroller targeted the well-known and highly respected Christian Ministry, the American Family Association. The Washington Supreme Court also heard arguments this year in a case involving a Christian grandmother, Baronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers. Her flower shop has been accused of “discrimination” against a gay couple by refusing to make flower arrangements for their 2013 wedding. Stutzman actually served the couple, Robert Ingersoll and Curt Freed, for years, but declined to do flower arrangements for their wedding because it violated the beliefs of her Biblical Faith.

2016 was definitely chock full of Biblically significant news stories, and historic events. The most important event being the kickoff of the once in a lifetime Biblical Year of 5777.
