The largest and deadliest earthquake in 30 years struck Ecuador last night. The massive 7.8 magnitude quake destroyed countless homes and buildings, knocked out power in Ecuador’s most populous city, damaged highways, and collapsed bridges. The death toll is around 250 and is expected to rise, with at least 1,500 people injured. A state of emergency is in effect for six provinces of the nation – Guayas, Manabi, Santo Domingo, Los Rios, Esmeraldas and Galapagos. The quake comes just 2 days after Japan was struck by two equally massive earthquakes, 7.1 and 7.4 in magnitude. Japan also experienced a strong 6.2 magnitude temblor just a day earlier.
The powerful quakes in Japan struck just minutes apart, and tsunami advisories were issued for the region. This sparked fears reminiscent of the devastating 9.0 magnitude earthquake and deadly tsunami which ravaged Japan on March 11, 2011. Preliminary reports indicated that the quakes left around 1,000 injured, several killed, nearly 50,000 evacuated, and scores of buildings, roads and train tracks destroyed. These disastrous earthquakes are just the latest in about a dozen powerful temblors to strike across Asia in 2016, averaging 4 every month thus far.
Two nights earlier, a 6.9 magnitude quake struck Myanmar, causing damage across the region in places like Nepal and India. This came nearly a year after the 7.8 and 7.3 massive quakes, centered in Nepal, devastated the same region.
One week ago, on April 10, Pakistan was the victim of a 6.6 magnitude temblor which hit Kabul. That quake’s aftershocks were felt in India as well, which experienced a deadly 6.7 magnitude quake of it’s own in January, which also preceded a strong 6.1 magnitude earthquake in China. On the same day as Japan’s disastrous pair of quakes, a strong 6.2 temblor struck Mexico and Guatemala. Hitting closer to home, Alaska was also jolted by a 6.2 magnitude earlier this month.
Lord Jesus said that one of the primary signs indicating that His Return (Rapture of the faithful) is near, would be “POWERFUL EARTHQUAKES in diverse places”. This sign also goes hand in hand with another Latter Days sign which is also being fulfilled, which is many “SCOFFERS” of His Return.
“.. There shall come in the LAST DAYS scoffers, walking after their OWN lusts, And saying, WHERE is the promise of HIS coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, ALL things continue as they WERE from the beginning of the creation.” ~ 2nd Peter 3:3-4
Today, these scoffers among us are those who say that we have “ALWAYS had earthquakes”, and it is nothing new. They do not understand though that Jesus specifically referred to “POWERFUL” earthquakes across the globe, which means increasing in size and intensity. This has most definitely been the case in the past decade, and especially in the past 5 years since the historic 9.0 Japan Quake and the Tsunami that ensued.
I believe that the Japan disaster of 2011 was the catalyst and harbinger for all of the disastrous quakes to come. Also, we are the first generation in the nearly 2,000 years since Christ left the earth, to witness ALL of the signs of the Rapture being fulfilled simultaneously. Another point of great significance is that we are currently in the Biblical “JUBILEE Year” which comes around only once every 50 years. Plus, this October begins the Biblical Year 5777! Many of you familiar with my articles know how significant the number 777 is. It is the number of our GOD and Father, YaHWeH. What a Year and Season to be alive! These powerful earthquakes are truly a SIGN of the times, so look up friends, because our REDEMPTION draweth nigh.
