WE CAN’T “BAKE THE CAKE”: Why Christians Refuse To Participate In Gay Weddings

In 2015, the Holy Bible-hating liberals of America succeeded in defiling the fabric of this Judeo-Christian Nation, as the SCOTUS essentially legalized Gay Marriage nationwide. Myself, along with other God-fearing Christians and Jews, refused to accept the abominable court decision. #WeWillNotObey became our battle cry.

Moreso than any other group of Americans, Christians have always obeyed the “laws of the Land”. That is because, since the dawn of this nation, our laws have been based on the Laws and commandments of the LORD. But when any law of this Country comes into direct opposition with the Laws of our God, that “law of the land” becomes NULL AND VOID. We cannot obey. As Jesus Christ’s very first followers proclaimed – “We must OBEY GOD, rather than men.” ~ Acts 5:29

Many believers who support Gay Marriage today would counter my Biblical take on the matter with the verses from Romans 13, and of course Matthew 22:21, which tell us to obey our nation’s laws. These verses are taken out of context, and the national laws which Jesus and Paul were referring to did not come into conflict with God’s Laws.

For every Christian who uses these verses to argue that the LORD would approve of his children observing unGodly laws of the world, I ask my fellow believers to answer a simple question. If the law of Rome, or of any nation outside of Israel, commanded that Jews and Christians must burn their Torahs or Holy Bibles, do you think Jesus and Paul would say “You need to obey your rulers”. Sorry, but I don’t believe that our Lord or Saint Paul would be lighting that match.

God commanded Israel many times throughout the Holy Bible not to commit the abominations of the nations that surrounded them. He was very clear that they were to hold strictly to His Laws, and not the customs of the heathen. I have a newsflash for Christians and Jews today, our God is the SAME GOD who gave those commands to the Israelites through Moses. He has not changed, and He will NEVER change.

He has said in His Word, “I Am the LORD, I change NOT…” (Malachi 3:6). He also said, “THESE are the ones I look upon with FAVOUR: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at MY WORD, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 66:2). No one can read the entirety of the Holy Bible, and argue that God would allow us to obey worldly laws that are in direct conflict with His Laws.

Do you all remember the Biblical prophet Daniel, and what he did when he was faced with either obeying the “law of the land” or our God’s Law? In Daniel, Chapter 6, we find Daniel living in an unGodly nation, and the King there had passed a law saying that no one but the King could offer prayers in the land. What did Daniel do? Verse 10 tells us, that “When Daniel KNEW that the decree (law) was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he had always done in the past.”

So, we find that Daniel “KNEW” of the new law, and that he BLATANTLY disobeyed it. Why? Because the worldly law was antithetical to His God’s Law. Why is it any different for us believers today? Over the past decade, our nation has become just as unGodly, perverted, and rebellious as Babylon. Would a God Who “does NOT change”, Who is “the SAME yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8), expect us to sacrifice our Faith today, in order to obey laws that violate HIS LAW? I don’t believe that He would.

I believe He is looking for faithful Daniels in a world full of backsliders, and “religious” cowards. Putting your faith on the backburner, in order to “fit in” with the world, is extremely displeasing to God. Violating HIS Law, in order to adhere to worldly laws, is abomination to Him. Ignoring HIS Word, in order to “evolve” with the world around you, is a disgrace to Him. Forgetting HIS Moral Laws, in order to be a friend to an immoral world, makes you His ENEMY.

“You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of THE WORLD is enmity with GOD? Whosoever therefore will be a FRIEND of the world is the ENEMY of God.” ~ James 4:4

“Be NOT CONFORMED to this world: but be you transformed by the RENEWING of your mind, that you may prove what is that GOOD, and acceptable, and perfect, will of GOD.” ~ Romans 12:2

“COME OUT from among them, and be you SEPARATE, saith The Lord…” ~ 2nd Corinthians 6:17

I think the LORD has made it crystal clear that we are not to conform to the ways of a Godless world. We know that THIS world is under the rule, and the influence, of the Devil. That is why Lord Jesus said, “The world HATES ME.. because I testify of it, that the works thereof are EVIL” (John 7:7), and “If the WORLD hates you, realize that it hated ME first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you DO NOT belong to the world, and I have chosen you OUT OF the world, therefore, the WORLD HATES YOU” (John 15:18-19).

Lord Jesus didn’t mince words when teaching that we would not be “accepted” in a society that is hostile to God’s Word. He prophesied that TRUE Christians, in the last days, would be hated, persecuted, and that our Faith would even bring us into conflict with WORLDLY rulers and laws –

“JESUS said, Remember the word that I said unto you, The SERVANT is not greater than his LORD. If they have PERSECUTED Me, they will also persecute YOU.” ~ John 15:20

“JESUS said.. Take HEED to yourselves: for they shall deliver you.. into PRISONS, for you shall be brought before RULERS and kings for MY SAKE, for a testimony AGAINST THEM.” ~ Mark 13:9/Luke 21:12

“JESUS said, BLESSED are they which are PERSECUTED for Righteousness’ SAKE: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are YOU, when men shall REVILE you, and PERSECUTE you, and shall say all manner of EVIL against you falsely, for MY SAKE. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for GREAT is your REWARD in Heaven: for so they persecuted the PROPHETS which were before you.” ~ Matthew 5:10-12

PROPHECIES FULFILLED. Since the Gay Marriage ruling of 2015, all of the true, faithful, and uncompromising Holy Bible believers of this nation have been mocked, shunned, hated, persecuted, attacked, sued, and even imprisoned. I’m here to tell you that if you are a Christian or devout Jew, and you aren’t being labeled a “hater”, “bigot”, or a “Holy Bible-thumping looney-tune” concerning your views on the social issues of today, then you’re not reading God’s Word.

If you are reading it, then you’re not doing so enough, or you’re only cherry-picking parts of it that suit “your” worldview and not “GOD’S”. I’ve always said, you either read it ALL or not at all; because if you take God’s Word out of context then you end up with a pretext. God has an answer for absolutely everything in the Holy Bible. So, if you want to know where God stands on any issue, then you must read the totality of His Word.

You cannot pick and choose what you want to believe, and just discard the rest. You cannot render some of God’s Word untrue, simply because YOU disagree with it. God’s Word is not going to be popular in this evil, perverted, rebellious generation and world. So you cannot expect to be popular either, nor loved by all, if you hold a Biblical worldview. Just turn on mainstream media television today, and see how consistently our God, and His Word, are mocked and blasphemed.

Just this week, popular Late Night host, Jimmy Kimmel, made a mockery of Christians and our beliefs on his show. He brought up a recent California court case, decided earlier this week, in which a judge ruled that Tastries Bakery owner, Cathy Miller, does not have to make a “Gay Wedding” cake for the homosexual couple that sued her. Miller refused to use her artistic talents to participate in something which violated her Biblical beliefs about Marriage.

It is important to note, Miller does serve homosexual customers at her Bakery, but will not cater their Same-Sex Marriages. So she is obviously not discriminatory towards homosexuals as everyday customers. It is the Gay Marriage events, and celebrations, that she and us Christians cannot serve. Kimmel used the news story to mock Christians, and to portray us as “haters” of gays.

The liberal comedian acted out a skit, in which he, as a restaurant waiter, declined to serve a lesbian patron. When she questioned why, he explained that the gay customer could order a “pre-made salad”, but could not be served a fresh one because the chef on duty was a Christian who “doesn’t serve gay people”. Kimmel, like many in Hollywood who are forcing the radical LGBT agenda, was deceiving his viewers as to what the “Bake a Cake” for Gay Weddings cases are all about.

He presented the false premise that Christian business owners are refusing ALL homosexuals service. This is not true. EVERY Christian currently being sued in American courts for refusing to participate in a Same-Sex Wedding, like Cathy Miller, have no problem serving gay customers on a daily basis. Many of these business owners in the court cases, actually served the gay couple suing them on numerous occasions.

It was only when the couples specifically asked for services to be rendered for Gay Weddings, that the Christian owners refused to serve them. That is a BIG difference from what Kimmel, and many other liberals in the media, have portrayed. Someone needs to ask Jimmy Kimmel, whom I’m sure has hosted awards and events attended by Christians, would he host a “Traditional Marriage” fundraiser? I bet I’m not the only one who thinks that he would REFUSE.

I would also be the first one to defend his right to turn down that job, because it would violate his “beliefs” by hosting the event. Why then, is it alright for liberals to refuse to participate in events that violate their consciences, but it’s not ok for Christians to refuse to participate in what we view as a “celebration of SIN”? Homosexuals are free to sin all that they want. I’m not here to condemn them. In the privacy of their homes, they can do whatever they want.

I DO have a problem when they, a late nite talk show host, a judge, a president, or anyone else for that matter, tries to force us Holy Bible believers to PARTICIPATE in their sin. Why is that so hard for liberals to understand? Why does their current standard for allowing “violation of conscience” apply only to Christians?? Imagine if Black Lives Matter activists were forced to make cakes for, or provides services to the Ku Klux Klan or some other White Supremacists?

Do you think a court would rule that it would be “discrimination” if they refused? I doubt it. How about if a Democrat was forced to make a pro-Trump cake, or provide services to a Republican Rally? Would that be ruled discrimination or bigotry if they declined service? I think not. What if a muslim was forced to make a cake entirely out of pork, with a Muhammad Image on it? Could they be sued for refusing to serve you?

What if my Jewish friends were forced to make a cake for Nazis? Obviously, they should NEVER have to. Finally, should an LGBT print shop be compelled to make a “Leviticus 18:22” t-shirt for Christians? Should the homosexual owner of the establishment be forced to make the shirts that make them feel uncomfortable? Should they be forced by courts to pay a fine for refusing? I’m sure many of you would say no.

Yet, the LGBT community, and many liberals, are just fine with forcing CHRISTIANS to do things that are against our Faith and conscience. This unjust hypocrisy needs to end. Truly, consider if the shoe was on the other foot. Christians would not be winning lawsuits for being “discriminated against”. Because, as Christians, we wouldn’t be suing anyone who refused us service. We would just take our business elsewhere. We definitely wouldn’t set out to intentionally ruin someone’s life, or break them financially, simply because they held different beliefs than we do.

We do our best to influence and inspire others to believe the Word of God, but we don’t “force” it on them like they always falsely accuse us of doing. On the contrary, like my friends the Benham Brothers say, the LGBT advocates FORCE US to “accept” their lifestyle, then they FORCE us to “celebrate” it, and now they are FORCING us to “PARTICIPATE” in it.. OR ELSE.

Now, I’m sure there are many reading this who are not looking for my “opinion” on this matter, but want some Biblical reasons why Christians cannot participate in Same-Sex Marriages. Here are the top three Biblical arguments against Gay Marriage, and why we believers are so opposed to it –

#1: ADAM AND EVE, NOT ADAM AND STEVE – We’ve all heard this clever adage at one time or another, and while meant to be comical, it is actually 100% factual. God created the woman as a gift to the man, to be his mate, friend, and lover. If God was ok with homosexual relations, then why didn’t He just create another male? Also, He gave the male and female both distinct body parts which connect through sexual relations, and make babies. The body parts of two men and two women cannot do that. None of us would be here today if there were just 2 Adams or 2 Eves in the Beginning. There would be no human history.

“.. Male and female He created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and MULTIPLY and fill the earth’ ..” ~ Genesis 1:27-28

“The LORD God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (woman) FIT FOR HIM’.” ~ Genesis 2:18

“A MAN shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his WIFE, and they shall become ONE FLESH.” ~ Genesis 2:24

“WIVES, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. HUSBANDS, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey your PARENTS (Husband and Wife) in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.” ~ Colossians 3:18-20

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. HE gave up His life FOR HER.” ~ Ephesians 5:25

#2: HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS ARE UNNATURAL – As I previously stated, if God wanted two men or two women having sexual relations, then He would have made it possible for 2 men or 2 women to makes babies together. It is not possible, and never has been. When any nation legalizes Same-Sex Marriage, that nation is directly violating God’s “natural” order of things. Any Christian or Jew who supports Gay Marriage is ignorantly, or God forbid willingly, saying that they do not embrace or accept “God’s way” concerning human relationships and marriage.

“Thus saith the LORD, You shall NOT LAY with men, as (you lay) with women: it is ABOMINATION.” ~ Leviticus 18:22

“.. God gave them up unto VILE affections: for even their women did CHANGE the natural use into that which is AGAINST NATURE: And likewise also the men, leaving the NATURAL use of the woman, burned in their LUST one toward another; MEN WITH MEN, working that which is UNSEEMLY, and receiving IN themselves that recompence of their ERROR {Sexually Transmitted Diseases}, which was fitting RETRIBUTION; And even as they did NOT LIKE to retain GOD in their knowledge, God gave them over to a REPROBATE mind, to do THOSE things which are NOT convenient.. Then there are those, Who knowing the JUDGMENT of God, that THEY which commit SUCH things are worthy of death, NOT ONLY do the same, but have PLEASURE in them that DO THEM.” ~ Romans 1:25-28,32

“Know you NOT that the unrighteous shall NOT inherit the Kingdom of God? Be NOT DECEIVED: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor EFFEMINATE, nor abusers of themselves WITH MANKIND.” ~ 1st Corinthians 6:9

#3: REMEMBER “SODOM AND GOMORRAH” – One more big reason why we believers are so opposed to Gay Marriage in America is because it will undoubtedly bring God’s JUDGMENT upon this nation. People today conveniently forget that the biggest sins of Sodom and Gomorrah were homosexuality and sodomy. THESE sins are what the U.S. Supreme Court has deemed LEGAL in this once God-fearing Nation. Just because this is the good ol’ USA, do you honestly think for one minute that God will treat this Nation any different than He has all the rebellious sinful nations of the past?

“Jesus said, O faithless and PERVERSE generation, how long shall I be with you, and PUT UP WITH you?” ~ Matthew 17:17/Mark 9:19/Luke 9:41

“.. All the Nations that FORGET God shall be turned into HELL.” ~ Psalm 9:17

I couldn’t close this article without mentioning the current Supreme Court “Religious Freedom vs. Gay Marriage” case. As we speak, the SCOTUS is weighing arguments in the case of the Colorado baker who refuses to make cakes for Gay Marriages. The Court’s decision will have long-lasting consequences regarding the legal fates of believers across this nation, such as calligraphers, florists, photographers, and tailors who have refused to participate in Gay Weddings.

In the Masterpiece Cakeshop vs. Colorado Civil Rights Commission case, the baker Jack Phillips was fined by the CCRC after he refused to create a cake to CELEBRATE a Gay Marriage. Phillips argues that the First Amendment prohibits the State from compelling him to make a cake celebrating something which violates his conscience. Hopefully, the SCOTUS will get it right this time, unlike in 2015.

Irregardless, if they don’t, and they rule against our Religious Freedom again, and thus AGAINST GOD, then we will never obey! Nine black-robed men and women in Washington D.C. are NOT the Supreme Authority in this Land, GOD IS. Anything that the Supreme Court legalizes, which the LORD has deemed ILLEGAL, should not be recognized by Holy Bible believers. God’s Perfect Laws will always trump the flawed, and imperfect laws of men.

There is but ONE Lawgiver and Just Judge, and He sits upon the Throne of thrones in Heaven. While the SCOTUS may be able to make or change laws in this Nation at will, they can NEVER rewrite or change the Laws of the LORD. For thousands of years, His Laws have been LITERALLY etched in stone. We, as believers, can never participate in ANY event which breaks HIS Law. A Gay Marriage is one of those events. This, my friends, is why WE CAN’T BAKE THE CAKE.
