WHY WOULD GOD ALLOW CORONAVIRUS TO PLAGUE AMERICA?: A Recent Study Holds the Answer

“Now the Holy Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (demons).” – 1st Timothy 4:1

A new study released last week by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, called the “American Worldview Inventory,” revealed that only 6% of Americans hold a Biblical worldview. Compared with previous similar studies, that is a record low for this Nation – and it is a damning indictment of modern American society.

This Country has fallen further away from our God than ever before in its 2 ½-century existence. I have been writing about this sad subject year after year on this website and in my books, and it is so alarming how rapidly the percentage continues to decline over such a short period of time.

The recent CRC survey, of 3,000 American adults, asked 51 worldview questions that examined what people believe and how they conduct their lives. Only about 20% of those who attend Evangelical churches actually espouse the Biblical worldview, and just 17% of those attending Charismatic or Pentecostal churches. The numbers are even lower for those among other mainline Protestant churches – 8%; and for Catholics, a mere 1%! Only one out of every 100 Catholics believes the Holy Bible to be Gospel truth! So sad.

The study shows that there are a whole lot of “notional” Christians out there today – Americans who identify as Christian but don’t profess to know Christ personally. They make up about 55% of the U.S. population. The survey found that only 1/10th of 1% of them hold the Biblical worldview.

God help us.

Yet, people have the nerve to ask how God could allow the Coronavirus pestilence to blanket our Nation. Why would the LORD ever turn a blind eye to a country that has been blind to His Word for the past decade?

I haven’t shared a personal vision that I had on New Year’s Eve 2020 as of yet, because I have never thought of myself as a “prophet.” I’m content being known as a preacher of God’s Word and a “Last Days” watchman. I don’t like men and women who call themselves prophets today.

I have always felt that if you are truly a prophet sent by the LORD, then He will make that known to the world one way or another. So, I don’t consider myself a prophet and nor have I ever claimed to be. If God wants me to be, then He will make that gift in me known to the world in His time.

The vision that I had was when the ball was dropping at a minute to midnight on NYE. I remember seeing a word that seemed out of place at a New Year’s celebration, on a banner behind the hosts of the New Year’s Eve event. That word was “JUDGMENT.” I felt the Spirit nudge me at that time, but thought that it meant judgments of God befalling the world as a whole in 2020, and not specifically America. Though, I have believed for sometime that this Nation is long-overdue.

While I guess you could say that this Coronavirus is a judgment on virtually the entire world, America is getting hit a lot harder than I had initially expected it to when it had first arrived on U.S. soil. Is it a judgment upon a backslidden Nation that has forgotten our Maker? It sure seems like it to me.

When the entire country is shut down, the economy is being ravaged, unemployment is at a record-high, and 100,000-200,000 citizens could possibly die as a result of this virus, that sure looks to me like a judgment of the LORD.

Is Donald Trump to blame? No, I don’t think so. It could possibly have to do with him rolling out his “Deal of the Century,” which divides up certain parts of Israel (including Jerusalem), but I think that this virus is moreso a judgment that has been waiting to fall for the past decade – and God finally decided to pour it out upon America.

Think about it, even though this President has been doing his best to bring God back into this Nation, it all comes down to the average American citizen’s personal fear of the LORD. The numbers in the study that I shared today just go to show, though a majority of this country still claims to be “Christian,” a majority of them do not live their lives according to the Word of God that they claim to believe.

It is no coincidence that the daily verse I tweeted out today, Jeremiah 6:16, fits perfectly with the theme of this article –

“Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, WE WILL NOT WALK THEREIN.”

Does that sound like today’s secular society or what? I wish that I could have tweeted out the following verses in that Chapter as well, but you’re only allowed so many characters in each tweet on Twitter. So, here is the rest of that message to the American people that I believe God wants me to share during this pandemic –

“Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, WE WILL NOT HEARKEN.

Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.

Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have NOT HEARKENED unto My words, nor to My law, but REJECTED IT.” (Jeremiah 6:17-19)

I’m sure that many Sunday-only Christians may be asking, “but how have we not hearkened to God? How have we rejected His words and His law? We ‘love’ one another.” If you have to ask the above questions, then you need to draw closer to the LORD, because you obviously don’t know Him or His Word well enough. I know this may sound harsh, and I don’t enjoy calling out other believers, but somebody has got to say these things.

Yes, Lord Jesus said to “love one another.” Everybody knows that. But so do hippie gurus like Gandhi. What separates Jesus’ teaching from theirs is that He said there is one Greater Commandment that comes before loving one another, and that is “You shall love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Too many believers today strive to keep the second commandment of Jesus, but ignore the first and the Great Commandment.

You may ask, how do we “love God”? Jesus, Himself, told us exactly what it means to love Him –

“KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.” – John 14:15/Matthew 19:17/1st John 5:3/Revelation 14:12

Which commandments? EVERY commandment given by the LORD within the pages of the Holy Bible. Some Christians today choose to only keep the commandments that Lord Jesus gave in the New Testament and ignore the Old Testament laws. By doing so, they are ignorantly denying that Jesus Christ is Who He said He was and who they SAY that they believe He is – GOD in the flesh.

If Christ Jesus is Who He said He was, then that means that He and the Father share the same Spirit. We are told in the Scriptures that the Bible – both Old and New Testaments – was written by holy men of God who were moved by the Holy Spirit. This all means that Jesus Christ WROTE the Old Testament, and all of the commandments therein, WITH the Father YHWH. Because He and the Father are “ONE” (John 10:30).

If you throw out the Old Testament commandments because you are a strictly “New Testament” believer, then you don’t truly know God. I always say, you must believe the entirety of God’s Word or you don’t believe it at all.

You cannot pick and choose what parts of the Word that you like or “agree with” and just discard the rest as insignificant. It is all significant to God, and every single world on every single page was written by the SAME Divine Author. If you reject even one sentence of the Holy Bible, then essentially you are rejecting it all.

Many of you may be saying, “God knows I’m a good person. I try my best.”

But do you really strive to keep His laws? Do you strive to keep His Sabbath Day holy? Do you strive to not take His Name in vain? Do you strive to love Him above all else? Do you strive to honor your parents? Do you strive to not gossip, lie, cheat, or steal? Do you strive to not commit adultery? Do you strive to not covet what your neighbor has? Do you speak out against homosexual lifestyles and gay marriage? Do you speak out against abortion, which is the shedding of innocent blood?

If you can say yes to all of the above, then you are close to being a perfect Christian. But I suspect that 100% of you, including myself, have some work to do after reading those questions.

The reason that Christ Jesus had to come down for us and die for us, in this very month and season of the Passover, is because we CAN’T keep all of God’s commandments perfectly. That is why we call Him our Savior and Lord, and why we label ourselves as “Christians.”

Sadly, if only 6% of American believers hold the Biblical worldview, only 6% of us are actually pleasing to God! 94% of you are not. Until that starts to change, none of us can ever say “why would God allow” this or that.

Am I saying that you need to keep every commandment to be saved? Of course not. There would be no need for faith in Christ if that were the case. I’m saying that God, including Lord Jesus, expects us to STRIVE to keep them. We will all slip and fall into sin every day of our lives. Some of us more than others. That is where Christ’s redemptive sacrifice and shed blood comes in to wash and cleanse us of all sin and unrighteousness.

But if you are living like the secular world everyday, speaking out in support of same-sex relationships, speaking out in favor of abortion, calling false gods (like Allah and Buddha) “the same God as the Christians and Jews,” all in the name of “loving your neighbor”… then you are no Chrisian at all. You are a secularist wearing a Christian mask.

God sees through all of your masks! Take them off today. Get in God’s Word. Learn what pleases Him and what doesn’t please Him. Strive to live for Him and NOT for the world. If you do these things, then He will keep His faithful promise in Exodus 12 to “pass over you” and your loved ones when His plagues are poured out.

I have said for over a decade that “judgment is coming” to America if we don’t change our ways, and now I can say that JUDGMENT HAS COME. It’s only the beginning. More pestilences will come. More violence will come. More disasters will come. Will you be safely on the side of God – covered under the protective blood of His Son – or will you be a victim of His judgments – being a “friend of the world.” In this season of Christ’s sacrifice, there is no better time to get right with your Maker.

I pray that my words have encouraged you all to reevaluate your lifestyles, your opinions on important issues, and above all, your FAITH. It is never too late for any of you to return to God, or to come to Him for the first time. With possibly hundreds of thousands of potential deaths coming from this Coronavirus, wouldn’t you like to know that you belong to God? It greatly comforts me daily.

If you don’t know if you belong to Him, then now would be a good time to open your Bible and begin to shape your worldview through it. God is waiting for all of you to come unto Him through His Word and His Son. Don’t squander the opportunity while He has made it readily available to all of you.

By the LORD using this virus to virtually shut down our sinful society – whether it be the bars, nightclubs, casinos, strip clubs, whorehouses, or sporting events and concerts that take up so much of our time and attention – He has brought us back to the basics. He is finally forcing you all to focus on your families, your marriage, and hopefully… on HIM. Now is the time to return to your God America. Don’t blow this chance.

RETURN TO YOUR GOD.

“Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: Return to Me… and I will return to you.'” – Zechariah 1:3
